While this isn't a full retranslation like my Xenoblade 2 project, it focuses on preserving the authentic Japanese elements that were altered during localization.
Before you start complaining because you are used to localized terms - I remind you that this patch restores the original names and your nostalgia has nothing to do here.
Core Philosophy
The fundamental goal of this patch is authenticity to the original Japanese version without compromising cultural elements for the sake of "Western accessibility." This isn't about making the game more "digestible" for the average player - the official localization already serves that purpose. Instead, this patch aims to preserve the original intent of character naming and terminology that was significantly altered in the Western release.Current Progress
So far, I have completed (including DLCs):- All character names restored to their original Japanese versions. In addition to changes in the names of the main characters, basically all NPCs had their names changed. Most of these changes are ridiculous. like Adolf -> Andreas, Fritz -> Moritz, Vandham -> Vangarre, Louise -> Lesunia, Veronica -> Vronik or Orpheus -> Orkatix
- The attack names have been restored to the original ones, however, in this Xenoblade game, most of the names of the attacks were left original
- Standardized the terminology used in both games - Xenoblade 2 and Xenoblade 3 (Bonding Talk etc)
- Mechonis -> Machine God
- Metal Face -> Black Face
- Bionis - > Giant God
- Xord -> Zord
Before you start complaining because you are used to localized terms - I remind you that this patch restores the original names and your nostalgia has nothing to do here.
Planned Restorations
- If anyone gives other examples of what has been changed, I will be happy to incorporate them into my patch.
