I'm not the original post of this thread, the thread belongs to en_hawk, I'm merely posting this for preservation purpose, all rights belongs to the original post
Updates:
6/22/15 - I just launched the new version of Sky, so you no longer need to install beta files or anything funny like that, just download the main installer package for SK and follow the upgrade instructions in the thread. This race is now included along with the update to SK, so there is no longer a separate download. However due to LL's policies on the matter there is no nudity included out of the box; I've got a patch to "fix" that up for grabs in here though.
5/6/15 - Alright, so I added model options, texture options(with screenshots), two new [admittedly boring] screenshots of the character presets, and updated the included hand, foot, and first person hand meshes to some slightly less ancient ones. Also updated the default meshes and textures to be non-nude by default, there are now nude patches up for download as a result. You should probably uninstall the current version before installing the update, as a handful of files were removed.
So I've been working on sitting on this for ~5 months, and its just been collecting dust; needed to get released. To put it as simply as possible, this is a recreation of the original CotS R2 as a module for sky. It looks and plays exactly as the original mod did, except with none of the conflicts, bugs, or vanilla asset overwrites, and with all of the technical benefits of being a sky module(like armor swapper support). Also it has a modern XPMSE skeleton, v263 to be precise.
Now that the new version of Sky has launched, there are no longer any funny requirements to get this working, just follow the upgrade directions in the SK thread if you already had it installed, then use the installation wizard(or do it manually if you want, there's instructions for that too).
Requirements:
Sky (obviously)
Anything sky requires (read its thread, there are links to the requirements)
Download:
Its included with sky, which is linked directly above! Select the relevant option in the installation wizard or follow the manual install instructions.
Installation:
There is an option to install the CotS race when installing Sky with the installation wizard, as well as manual install instructions provided in the OP for those not using a wizard. Its that simple.
Alternate body options: (this means nude patches, too)
ATF user stucksomewhere was kind enough to create a package that overwrites the legacy CotS girl body assets with those from Sky, which he dubbed 'SKotS'. So that is an option for those that like the CotS faces, but think the body looks a bit... 'dated'. I took this a step further and divided everything up into individual body/texture options. There are options to use either the original CotS body or the Sky girl body, and there are nude and underwear versions of each, and there are also options for nude or underwear versions of the CotS boy body. Lastly, the aforementioned 'SKotS' package is included in here, however I've stripped it down to just the textures; you can use whichever body you like by installing the option of your choice. I put the whole thing together with a handy wizard as it was slightly complicated without:
https://mega.co.nz/#!HIcwlaQR!W8GCX8WHcW-koqXoS1tm3iPBcpuncYirtKiYpihGKkU I have not tested the installer script for this(as I don't run NMM/MO personally) so if it blows up and fails to install please tell me so I can try and fix it! Apparently the installer works fine, so this should be good to go.
Known Issues:
I believe the vanilla 'scars' feature is broken; this is not my fault, but is instead a limitation of the facegen files included in the original CotS. The 'mask' layer that the vanilla scars and other such decals use was not updated to account for the changes made by the other files that were edited, and is now actually inside of the face, so it doesn't really work. I could probably create the necessary files myself, but I don't particularly feel like it at this point in time. Everything else should be fully functional.
Problems with armor or equipment?
Those are issues related to the beta SK armor patcher, and not this module, but if you have questions or issues with that just throw them in here for the time being and I'll see what I can do...
Credits:
Jiitek - the original CotS R2, where 90% of the assets come from(if he borrowed them from somewhere, it doesn't say on the tin...)
en_hawk(me) - packing cleaning everything up and turning it into a Sky module, that's all I did here(also the Sky assets that were included as options)
lostdaywalker - male and female underwear meshes for the CotS body
Random notes:
This uses its own bodies+textures, independent from the ones in SK, and it also has its own skeletons which are already up to date with XPMSE - now slightly out of date but whatever. Both bodies are 0 weight only by design, and raising your characters weight above 0 produces no changes beyond causing the head side of the neck to clip into the body. I can fix this if its really that big of a deal, but I'm not quite sure why I should considering the body doesn't actually change so you really shouldn't be messing with the slider in the first place.
