Hey guys.
i currently have JB PS4 on 5.05, and of course like everyone, i'm frustrated with the fact i can't play 5.5x games.
so, i came up with this idea that maybe i could install 2 different firmware's on the same console.
i just don't know if the operating system is installed on the HDD of the PS4 or on the hardware itself
(like BIOS in PC).
if it is installed on the HDD, will it be possible to install one HDD with 5.5X and another one with 5.05 and just switch between them to change firmware's?
or maybe there's a way to create some sort of a dual boot option?
i'm new to this community, so excuse me in advance if my question seems silly.
I was just trying to think outside of the box here...

impossible, the firmware is in the internal memory of the console.
when you put 5.5X you can't come back.

a better solution if you really want this just buy a new ps4 or second-hand use one for jailbreaking and one for normal use then you will get a setup like this.

It's a good idea. Same here, I had PS4 two console with fat model oldest. 6.00 and 5.05. ;)
trouble with buying second hand is they most likely will have been updated to higher firmware.
