Shadow of War - Not saving progress

Hi - Is anyone else having the issue where irrespective of how long you play, the game does not save your progress and basically defaults to the start every time?

Rather annoying as I am actually trying to progress through this game and don't have the energy to do it over and over.

What do you mean? Isn't there an auto-save? If not, can't you save manually?
