Updating to latest without being banned ?

I have done exploits on my console on 5.05 but I want to quit hacking and make my console "normal" again. I have bought the latest tomb raider game and I want to be able to play it.
Do i just do a hard reset on the console and delete everything and then update ?
Would I still be banned If I start playing retail games normally?

Yes, you will get banned. First, you need turn on PS4 safe mode then put initialize PS4 will delete anything user and logs, save data, etc will be default system then you can update to 6.00, your PS4 logs have gone and you won't get banned.

Thank you so much for the quick answer. but one question tho. How do I put my PS4 in "safe mode" ?

Iv'e updated on many platforms. IMO so long as you have spent a bit of cash online ie.. psn then they won't ban you. I usually just delete all my HB.
