Give Marcus, Dom, Lucas and Mags smaller block heads, block arms and Villager dialogue while keeping their Gears armour. Choose any combination; characters you do not select keep their normal appearance and dialogue.

Download the Character Chooser ZIP for the easiest installation. The Manual ZIP is an alternative for people who prefer copying files themselves. You only need ONE of the two downloads.
EASY INSTALL — CHARACTER CHOOSER
1. Close E-Day and extract the complete Character Chooser ZIP.
2. Double-click Choose-Villagers.cmd.
3. Check the detected game folder. If needed, use Browse to select the GoWEDay folder from Steam > Manage > Browse local files.
4. Tick the characters you want and click Apply selection.
5. Use English dialogue, then launch normally through Steam.
For Marcus and Mags only, tick Marcus and Mags; leave Dom and Lucas unticked. Reopen the chooser to change the squad later. To remove this mod, untick everyone, then Apply selection. Launch game does not apply unsaved checkbox changes.
No extra software is required. The chooser checks file hashes, saves backups outside the game's Paks folder and restores previous files if installation fails. If it disables a Mags Droid voice pack, unticking Mags restores that saved pack. Disable other model or voice replacements for selected characters manually.
MANUAL INSTALL — OPTIONAL
1. Close the game and extract the Manual ZIP.
2. In Steam, right-click E-Day > Manage > Browse local files.
3. Open FairlightConcept\Content\Paks and create a folder named ~mods if needed.
4. Copy all THREE files from payload\Common directly into ~mods.
5. For EACH character you want, copy all SIX files from that character's payload folder directly into the SAME ~mods folder. Keep the .pak, .utoc and .ucas files together; do not copy the outer payload folders.
6. Disable conflicting character model/audio packs, including Mags Droid audio if selecting Mags. Launch normally with English dialogue.
Marcus + Mags only = 15 files. One character = 9 files. All four = 27 files.
CHANGE OR UNINSTALL MANUALLY
Close the game. Remove only the unwanted character's six VillagerParty_Model and VillagerParty_Voice files. If no characters remain, also remove the three VillagerParty_Common files. Leave ~mods and other mods alone; restore any alternate character mods you disabled.
COMPATIBILITY AND LIMITATIONS
Steam PC, build 25724756; English campaign beta. Marcus and Mags together have been tested in gameplay, and the four character packs passed native container checks. Not every chapter or character variant has been playtested. Some original effort, pain and death vocalisations remain. This is an external chooser, not an in-game skin menu. Compatibility with other skin selectors, PC Game Pass, multiplayer and anti-cheat is unverified. No anti-cheat bypass or special launch settings are included.
