M-1000 Maxigun — No Movement Lock v1.0.1

A Mod for Helldivers 2
M-1000 Maxigun — No Movement Lock akl_mod_preview_image
UNRESTRICTED MAXIGUN

The M-1000 Maxigun roots you to the ground the moment you start firing. Great gun,
terrible idea when a Charger is closing in and your legs stop answering.

This mod removes that lock. The Maxigun now behaves like a regular support weapon —
you walk, you turn, you reposition while shooting, exactly like the standard MG-43
Machine Gun. That's it.

WHAT IT DOES
- Removes the movement lock while firing the M-1000 Maxigun
- Handling now matches a standard support weapon
- No changes to damage, ammo, recoil or spread
- Does not affect any other weapon

REQUIREMENTS
- Bingus Shared Loader (required — this mod will not work without it)

INSTALLATION (HD2 Arsenal)
1. Install Bingus Shared Loader and place it FIRST in your load order
2. Install this mod and place it AFTER Bingus
3. Launch the game

Load order matters. If Bingus loads after this mod, nothing will happen.

Maxigun Return — FAQ and a Few Words From Its Creator

First of all, I want to thank everyone who downloaded, tested, or simply showed interest in my mods.

I'm a Helldivers 2 player with over 1,200 hours in the game. I've played solo, with friends, with random players, farmed Super Credits in some rather unconventional ways, and done all kinds of stupid things along the way.

I never imagined I'd end up creating mods for this game.

And I definitely never expected to spend hours dealing with crashes just to give a giant machine gun its freedom back. LOL.

1. What exactly does Maxigun Return do?

Its main purpose is to let you walk and move while firing the M-1000 Maxigun.

I also tried to make the installation process as simple as possible. I wanted to avoid forcing players to close and reopen the game repeatedly just to get the mod working.

The idea was simple: load it directly into HD2 Arsenal and let the system handle the rest.

2. Is it safe with the new anti-cheat? Could I get banned?

During development, my game crashed over and over again. I went through roughly 30 attempts in a single afternoon before getting a working solution.

Personally, I doubt someone would get banned for something this trivial, but I cannot guarantee that.

I'm not asking you to believe in me. I'm asking you to trust your own judgment.

In the end, it's a leap of faith, and I understand why some people aren't willing to take that risk.

I chose to take it myself. That doesn't mean everyone else should.

3. How did you make it work without waiting for Bingus?

Partly thanks to a mod created by someone whose name is written in Chinese.

I'm not even going to try typing it because I'll probably butcher it. LOL.

That tool made some of the necessary functionality available again.

From there, I wanted to simplify the whole process.

I didn't want players to deal with strange procedures, mysterious executables, or a dozen different steps.

I wanted HD2 Arsenal to recognize it as a normal mod.

If something looks suspicious even to me, how could I expect other people to trust it?

4. Why release your own solution instead of waiting?

Originally, I wanted to take advantage of the opportunity while waiting for possible reinforcements from Bingus.

But after reading some news and discussions, I started thinking that a solution might not arrive anytime soon, or perhaps at all.

So I decided to work with what was available.

I wasn't trying to replace Bingus or compete with other developers.

I'd actually love to see someone with more experience improve this approach.

5. Why upload the new version to Google Drive?

Because it was the first thing that came to mind after spending around six or seven hours trying to get this thing working. LOL.

Some people might call that impatience.

I see it differently. After hours of searching for a solution, I finally had something worth sharing.

Google Drive was simply the quickest option I could think of.

6. What's next for Maxigun Return?

I honestly don't know.

For now, I don't intend to continue actively developing it. The future of Helldivers 2 modding is too uncertain.

I mainly made this for my friends, and as my own little response to Arrowhead's balance decisions regarding the Maxigun.

This weapon deserves better.

Whether that means AP4, removing the chains from its feet, or simply allowing players to have fun shooting while moving.

If Bingus or another developer comes up with a better solution, I'll be happy to see it.

7. What about Blood Debt?

Its future is uncertain too.

Blood Debt came from my love for melee combat.

One of my earliest Warbonds was the one featuring the spear, and I even spent many missions using the flag as my main weapon.

I had so many ideas for this project.

One of my biggest ambitions was to introduce a proper bow as a primary weapon, rather than just reskinning a crossbow.

That's why some players may have noticed a locked feature related to it.

It was an ambitious project, and every idea required time, research, and testing.

If someone wants to continue what I started, they're welcome to do so.

8. Why do you use artificial intelligence to create mods?

Because AI is a tool.

I use it for many things: drawing, research, programming, learning, and finding answers to problems that might otherwise take me much longer to solve.

But AI isn't perfect.

It can make mistakes, skip steps, or overlook details that other people consider essential.

That's why you have to guide it, check its work, test the results, and correct what goes wrong.

I don't see anything wrong with using a tool that helps more people learn and create.

What matters is knowing what you want to achieve and putting in the effort to get there.

9. Doesn't moving while firing make the Maxigun overpowered?

The Maxigun has far more disadvantages than advantages.

If efficiency were my only concern, I'd bring a Gatling Sentry or a machine gun running at maximum RPM with a Supply Pack.

But nothing compares to mowing down enemies with a Maxigun while running away from danger.

I've seen arguments involving physics, weapon balance, and comparisons with other games.

I respect those opinions, even if I don't necessarily agree.

To me, Helldivers 2 is also about having fun doing ridiculous things.

10. Can we use, modify, or continue your mods?

Absolutely.

You're free to use, study, modify, improve, or even completely butcher my mods if you want. LOL.

I only ask one thing:

If you publish something based on my work, please credit Qetimporta or link to the original mod.

I'm not asking for money or special recognition.

I'd just appreciate people remembering that these projects started with someone who wanted to make his friends happy.

11. Any final words?

Yes.

I've seen countless arguments about mods, cheating, balance, and what should or shouldn't be allowed in Helldivers 2.

Some people believe modifying gameplay is cheating. Others simply want to enjoy the game their own way.

I've seen both sides.

After more than 1,200 hours, I've learned that not everyone is looking for the same experience.

I'm not interested in starting a war with other players or modders.

I just wanted to have fun with my friends again.

It was disappointing to watch so many projects come to a halt, and to learn that people I had placed a lot of faith in would no longer be working on them.

So I decided to do what I could.

Now it's time for a well-deserved break.

To Arrowhead:

You might never read this, but I'd like to leave you with a little message inspired by an old Batman story:

In the years to come, whenever you look back on some of your most controversial decisions, remember that an ordinary player, armed with AI and an unreasonable determination to bring back his favorite weapon, managed to get his Maxigun working after the changes that left so many mods behind.

I don't know how much testing you did. I only know how much testing I had to do.

And to everyone who made it this far:

Thank you.

I don't know what tomorrow will bring. Maybe better solutions will appear, maybe other developers will take my mods further, or maybe I'll come up with another stupid idea that costs me an entire night of sleep. LOL.

But today, I achieved what I wanted: I gave my Maxigun its freedom back.

As Gandalf once explained, sometimes it's the small acts of kindness from ordinary people that keep the darkness at bay.

I didn't change the world. I just wanted my friends to have fun again. And if I managed to make a few other players smile along the way, then all those hours of work were worth it.

I have no enemies. Only friends worth protecting.

A selfless act can make a small difference in someone else's life.

The Emperor Protects.

P.S.:
Yes, I'm a human of the Alliance. No, that doesn't mean I can't shout for the Horde. LOL.

P.P.S.: I'm not Captain America, a superhero, or even a villain. Just a human who wanted to have fun.

P.P.P.S.: If you think I'm moving over to this thing called HellForge, I didn't even know it existed until I saw people talking about it on social media. LOL.

For now, I just want to sleep, get some rest, and enjoy the feeling that this simple little mod might have opened a door for people who needed one, or for those who want to keep exploring what lies beyond it.

Did I win in some way? I think I did.

How? I have absolutely no idea. LMAO.

And as Truman Burbank would say:

Good morning! And in case I don't see ya, good afternoon, good evening, and good night!
