Hello,

First real query on here so if you need more info, let me know.

7.0.1 OFW.
RCM Jig, Gold Leaf the NSP over. Running Hekate 4.10.1 from Android device and PC.

I've successfully installed Final Fantasy 7 and Crash N Sane. They both work.

Pushing Bomberman R and Mario Kart 8 and ignoring firmware installs fine but neither will load. One gives '2016-1100 error' (cant tell what game as no game art or name is shown) and the other gives 'Could not start the software'

Any ideas at all?

Thanks!

No artwork means game is not installed properly,
1 go ahead and install the latest version of gold leaf
2 at some point on 7.0.1 gold leaf didnt install some game properly while others installed just fine, i fixed it by using Lithium installer

Lithium doesn't seem to have a great rep?

This is a 'fresh' install, I only set this up 2 weeks ago with the latest stuff from a stock switch and moved 1 game to it. I moved Crash last night, then these 2 others.

I'm wiping the card currently to move away from Atmosphere, its generating some odd stuff and restarting randomly with errors. Going to ReINX, but is there anything other than Gold Leaf thats sensible enough, I'm wary of Lithium from the amount of crap its been given.

yes there is tinfoil its also a good Switch installer
its weird to read that atmosphere is having issues
so far atmosphere has been the best for all my systems
this is what I would do since you are running 7.0.1. I would downgrade to 6.2.0 and install your games by always clicking the always ignore firmware Chances are 6.2.0 will fix most your issues with installing games. so far no game is worth the upgrade to 8.X.X
and another thing always use the best dumps from people in darksoftware. @African goes the extra mile to make NSP uploads to work with 6.2.0 firmwares (6.2.0 being a great CFW)

Unsure how to downgrade if I'm honest. Everytime I place a file in firmware and use choidujour, the firmware file is empty, even when I mount back onto PC, the file and 'txt' file that I changed is gone.

Guaranteed if/when I downgrade, it'll require 7.0.1 for some games, just my luck :)

I always use Africans dumps, its a horrific wait as it uses zippy and the UK is pretty trash for blocking stuff, so I proxy to Canada, but they have a 300kbps limit....

I cant post an external link to a lower firmware, but google it the web site starts with ( Darth )
then place the 6.2.0 firware in the root of your SD card, when you open choidujour open up folder 6.2.0 and follow the steps
Most of African post are 6.2.0 even if the game is for 7.0.0 @African does something to make them work on 6.2.0 so dont worry. just make sure that you always use "ignore firmware " and you should be fine

But it removes those files, I have a keen interest in computers so I know what I'm doing is correct, but the firmware gets removed from the folders after loading. I've tried 2 different micro SDs both as FAT32, no change. Every time I browse to the firmware folder, its gone.

Also, downgrading is backwards... I don't see the reasoning to go to 6.2.0 as I don't always want to get from African, I'm happy to pull from a source that is supported in the UK (zippy are not :( ) at a sensible speed. Until people utilise Mega more or at least chunk the files its going to be painful, hence my reluctance to roll back to something 'inferior' such as early firmware.... even if I could as above..

I'm unsure why I get multiple atmosphere errors, assuming its purely SD card loaded, has anyone ever used a 128/256GB in ExFAT mode successfully rather than FAT32 as its partitioning is far nicer?

I exclusively use 6.2.0 as it is the most stable of the CFWs. 7.0.1 came with many bugs when installing games. FW 7.0.1 AND 8.xx have nothing worth upgrading hence my recommendation to downgrade
I use a 256 samsung SD card from amazon as ExFat and I dont have any issues. the only times i have used fat32 is to run retroarch and other emus

as far as the firmware getting removed, I havent heard that issue ever. never heard choidujour doing that

Downgrading appears to be troublesome. UK prevents D/L of that file... Even through a proxy or webvpn, it still refuses to download FW620.zip... Superb.
I can replicate atmosphere crashing though. Short of wiping my switch entirely... I don't think its fixable!

Ho hum... Attempted tinfoil but no idea how to make it talk on windows and my linux distro doesn't even detect its connected through USB, but detects every other USB device.

It is almost worth still buying the games :P

It has detected 6.2.0... my card is FAT32, do I still select ExFAT (as guide says) despite me being FAT32?

Update: did it anyway, switch booted fine. Random game installed correctly (oh) and Atmosphere didn't crash. Unsure if it helps anyone who devs, but everytime USB installations were pushed in goldleaf, the last (assuming debugging it correctly) 64byte message to the USB device hangs, meaning when you cancel or eject it fails. I can replicate it every single time. :) Unsure if it matters as 6.2.0 seems OK, but for 7.0.1, it certainly stops that message/communication around 94-95% of the time. I have had 1 successful game install over 15 SD wipes.

---Update again,

Final Fantasy 7 works, FFX/X2 and Mario Kart refuses to install with USB Error 3, Smash Bros fails with Invalid Path(1) but neither actually start sending data... just get chopped beforehand by the switch. I can't really be doing anything different to others, surely!

just drag mario kart directly to your SD card and install it like that. maybe its a usb bug . if you are using SX OS/ or even ReinX it has many flaws with 7.0.1
their most stable version continues to be 6.2.0,

FFX file is really large installing with USB not recommended if you are having issues
install directly from sd card for a better install process

Can't copy to card. Device wants to update with ExFAT now I've put 6.2.0 on... So I'm back to FAT32.

I am now on 6.2.0, so nothing about 7 exists on here now.

Sadly, it's almost too painful to do this. Once they crack 8.0, I'll be back on that as ExFAT is preferable but not liked on the 'darth' downloaded FW620...

Just a follow up from this.

I've got a handful of games from African now which fail to install over Goldtree/leaf.

I get;

Invalid NCA (might mean missing sigpatches or a too low firmware) (4517)

I'm on 6.2.0, im clicking ignore the firmware version... sigpatches though...? How do I sort that?

Edit kinda - I can install games but they appear as blank black squares with no names... unsure what thats about...

I think this issue was resolved on another thread with a higher firmware,

Oh sorry, you were noting that I had another thread.

My NSPs still don't install properly, mentions a problem with the NSP but I get them from here... so perhaps its just worth me going back to buying the games! :D

sounds like a plan, glad your issues will be fixed
