Loverslab (or "LL") doesn't allow any discussion, assistance or content that involves underage characters with nudity or in sexual context. Please respect their rules and if you want to ask their help on something, first disable any loli/shota mods that might show up on your load order or papyrus logs or you risk getting banned. You can also always ask for help here on ATF.

Please reply only to comment on the guide itself.

For a more in-depth guide than this one, please check out Skyrim Shota/Loli Starters Guide with Mods, Conversions and Resources by Corin

*Beginner's guide was never meant to be a "real" guide, but a reply on a forum to someone on how to get started, which I just later expanded a bit.

You can get the offline copy of this guide (might be outdated) from Mega.

http://www.loverslab.com/topic/43043-skyrim-modding-guide/ - Lengthy guide but lots of great information.
http://wiki.step-project.com/Main_Page - General guide for modding Skyrim.

Mod Master List - The good stuff when you feel ready.

Few Guidelines:
If you have played Skyrim before and still have it on your hardrive (just forgotten), you might consider starting this journey by first uninstalling the game. Delete the game folder if it still exists and get rid of also the Skyrim folder in \My Documents\My Games, which contains the .ini files, saves, etc. This way there won't be any problems that might be caused by obsolete/outdated mods or tweaks that are no longer valid.

Before installing any mods, RTFM and pay close attention to requirements they have. Do not install all the mods at once, do it in parts and test that everything works before proceding.

When you are ready, you can either use NMM (Nexus mod Manager) or MO (mod Organizer) to do this. In theory, with MO you don't have to ever again reinstall the game, but it has a learning curve. NMM is easier to use, but some things are not reversible and you have less freedom to experiment with different mods.

It is highly recommended that you learn to use the Mod Organizer, especially if you are new to modding Bethesda games.

You also need a tool to sort the load order of the mods, use LOOT instead of the obsolete BOSS (MO comes with it's own version of LOOT).

Remember to run LOOT, FNIS & Skyproc patchers when you install/remove any mods!
Essential:
Unofficial patches - Not actually required but highly recommended. Fixes bugs that the official patch doesn't, there is one for the base game and also each one for the DLCs (links to them are there).

SKSE - Skyrim script extender, required by Sexlab and other complicated mods, always start your game through that.

FNIS - Fores New Idles in Skyrim. This is required for new animations to work. You need the FNIS Behavior and if you want creature (sex) animations you want also the Creature pack. You might want the FNIS Spells for making screenshots from poses. Everytime you're done adding new mods that contain animations, you need to run GenerateFNISforUsers.exe located in \skyrim\Data\tools\GenerateFNIS_for_Users folder.

Brawl Bugs Patch - This patch is required by Sexlab.

Fuz Ro D-oh - Silent voice. This is needed for dialogue that isn't voiced, otherwise the subtitles won't show long enough to read them.

SkyUI - Improved user Interface. Makes the inventory system much better and also enables the MCM (mod configuration mod) which is needed.

RaceCompatibility - Race compatibility for Skyrim and Dawnguard. This is needed for child races.

RaceMenu - Required by XP32 maximum skeleton extended. Gives you many new sliders to help you customize your character, but most of these won't work with child races. Comes with Precache Killer which helps to stop CTDs (crashing to desktop) when you have lots of hairstyles installed.

Size does matter - Not required but recommended. Stops the chilren from growing in size if they do certain animations or interactions, which looks weird and sometimes they get stuck in that size.

XP32 Maximum Skeleton Extended - Custom skeleton for adults, so animations and SOS (Schlongs of Skyrim) work. Install this last, as some mods (SOS) try to replace these. If you install new mods later on, don't let them replace skeleton.hkx, skeleton.nif or skeletonbeast.nif which are located in Skyrim\Data\Meshes\Actors\Character\Character assets and \Character assets female.

PapyrusUtil - Plugin for SKSE. This is required by few mods so I list it in here. Install this also last, as SOS will (or try to) replace it with outdated version.

Java - Java Runtime Environment (JRE). You need at JRE 7 or newer to run SkyProc patchers, like the armor patcher for Skykids. You probably have this already.
Hair/eyes:
Many of these are required by Skykids and RCOTS or their NPC replacers.

Apachii's SkyHair - Get the ApachiiSkyhair_v_1_5_Full, ApachiiSkyHairFemale_v_1_5 and ApachiiSkyHairMale_v_1_2.

Oblivion Hair Pack - Get the OblivionHairPackAIO and VB Hairpack.

KS Hairdos - The site is in russian. The download is behind button that says 602 MB.

The Eyes of Beauty - Get at least the player version, but can also install some of the other packages if you want (like NPC eye replacer).
Child Races:
There are many choices from which to choose from, but the biggest two are RCOTS and Skykids. RCOTS children have more fantasy-type look, while Skykids is more realistic. RCOTS requires Dawnguard & Hearthfires and Skykids requires only Dawnguard. Due to it's technical implementation RCOTS (might) conflict with certain mods, but most uses haven't encountered any problems. Skykids is completely "isolated", so it should be fully compatible with all other mods. It's possible to run these two side-by-side but I wouldn't really advise it.

Skykids - You need to run SKArmorPatcher.jar located in \Data\SkyProc Patchers\SKArmorPatcher everytime you're done adding or removing armors. For voice, since the mod does not come with any support, you can use the RCOTS-Childplayervoice1.9.7z which you can find in the RCOTS thread. There are compatibility patches for other mods like Inconsequential NPC's. There is an alternative NPC replayer available if you want a bit more RCOTS style faces and hairstyles for the kids in here. Cosmetic mods like hairstyles and eyes will require compatibility patches to show up, several of which can be found on the official thread and a few more on the alternate replacer thread (avoid the provided male textures as they are censored. The female textures are uncensored but they come with breasts).

RCOTS - Reworked Children of the Sky. I can't help much with this as I haven't really used it that much. Remember to replace the default esp file that comes in Friend Children NPC (which makes all vanilla childen RCOTS children) with the RCOTS-Friendchildren.esp that is listed below it, to disable the child tag (so that many sex mods will function properly).

For nude bodies, pregnancy support and SOS functionality you need to check the Mod Master List.
Sex:
Estrus - If you are into tentacles, you might be interested in this. This doesn't require Sexlab.

Animated Prostitution - Alternative sex mod. This doesn't require Sexlab. Requires a patch. It's an early version (will be releasing a proper one soon), works with Skykids, not sure about RCOTS. No sounds for the kids yet.

Sexlab Framework - Base requirement for all sex mods on LL. It doesn't do much on it's own.

Sexlab blocks sex with underage characters, this patch is required.

To test that the sex functionality works, get Match Maker so you can throw spells on yourself or NPCs (or animals if you have enabled them from the MCM) and after few seconds you/they will partner up.

Sexlab index - Sexlab mod index.

You want at least the SOS (Schlongs of Skyrim) for penises, Sexlab Aroused Redux (many mods rely on this), Sexlab defeat triggers sex when you lose in combat (some mods also continue this with enslavement), More Nasty Critters for creature sex, BeeingFemale for pregnancy, ZaZ Animation pack if you plan to use any BDSM/devious mods) and Apropos to show descriptions for the sex scenes.

More Nasty Critters already comes with Sexlab Nude Creatures, Creature Features and Hentai Creatures so don't install them separately.

Check the list yourself as there are too many mods to mention, they range from mods that allow you to prostitute yourself for money/drugs, to quests that allow you to romance certain NPCs and ways to complete quests with sex.
Complementary:
Skyrim Unbound - Lets you skip the tedious intro sequence and get into action right away which is useful when you want to quickly test out new mods. Also adds lots of options to customize the beginning of your journey. Download link.

Alternate Start - Live Another Life - Alternative start mod. I think Skyrim Unbound is better, but some mods rely on this one.

Immersive First Person View - Allows you to play the game with REAL 1st person view (you actually see your character when you look down. Great for sex scenes too.

Halo's mods - For sexy poses to make screenshots, you can find Pinup Poser and Halo's Poser here. There is also Aether Suite that adds new location to Skyrim, where is different kind of sceneries to serve as a backdrop.

HRK ENB TWO - ENBs extend the graphical abilities of Skyrim's engine, making the game a lot more visually pleasing. Generally requires decent graphics card with at least 2gb vram, but there are also so-called performance ENBs. This particular ENB mod aims for anime/fantasy type look.
Stability/performance/Troubleshooting:
Crash fixes: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/72725/?

Mods to avoid: https://www.reddit.com/r/skyrimmods/wiki/dangerous_mods_masterlist

If you don't plan to use ENB, then you should still use this: ENBoost

Also, make sure that SKSE.ini (located in \Skyrim\Data\SKSE) contains these lines:

Code:
[General]<br>ClearInvalidRegistrations=1<br><br>[Display]<br>iTintTextureResolution=2048<br><br>[Memory]<br>DefaultHeapInitialAllocMB=768<br>ScrapHeapSizeMB=256
This will help with CTD's, black textures, etc problems.
