Never visit any filehost site without Adblock/Guard/noscript/etc. Ever. Even if they're super awesome legit and bestest ever totes. Never. Always Adblock. Always have a running AV suite. The external ads these sites use are 99% clean but there's always going to be that one ad, that one provider, that runs some kind of grimy hijacker script.

Again; NEVER visit ANY filehost without some form of Adblock. This is most common of common sense internet knowledge and behaviour and I am not responsible for anyone's security or safety if they neglect this.

Also, always be sure exactly what you're clicking!

I used NordVPN Cybersec as an adblock, apparently it isn't good enough anymore, I got too sure of myself, haven't ever got screwed since I was a kid.

I had stopped using ad-block to support sites I care about (like this host ^-^), but I guess I have to tread carefully and start using it again. Shame... I was so pissed about losing all my files, I literally don't have anything installed on my main o.s aside from steam, I have my discord + chrome + torrents and crap on a vmware client with Unity enabled now.

I'm gifted in computing, it's literally my job. I still cannot believe I fell for something so basic... how???

For what it's worth, I am sorry if you got stung by some gruesome background script I've been using MirrorAce for a while and they've never done me wrong... but I always keep Adguard enabled on Chrome, just in case, it's just not worth the risk otherwise. I'm sure you've already tried various recovery tools on your drives, right? Like Recuva?

I tried lot's, It's not the biggest deal, I just don't know how it got me like that.
Yes, I recovered my roms and some other stuff, lost a bunch of old pc games + my steam saves.
Don't really care about the windows pictures and stuff, the roms and a few rare game mods we're important, lost my steam saves for lot's of games without cloud support : (. I'm happy that this is my gaming pc and not my workstation pc, or it would have hurt ALOT more, thanks for caring ^-^.

welp...your 2019 & below releases are all down unfortunately. i do happen to have this but it seems to have the messed up hud & no update history with the cheat list after i tested it
