Requirements
- APC Restored, the Bastion-conversion version (v0.6.7; it replaces the TD-220 Bastion) (required). The no-replacement version for HD2 Runtime v30+ isn't supported yet.
- Bingus Shared Loader v19 or newer (required)
- Armored Overhaul (optional)
Install / update
Add AO-Addon-for-APC-Restored-1.0.2.zip in your mod manager (Arsenal / HD2 Mod Manager) and make sure it is below APC Restored in the load order (it must load after APC Restored). Pick your options, then Purge and Deploy (every install, update or option change).
Options
- APC Compatibility (always on): APC Restored and Armored Overhaul side by side; brakes the APC to a stop when you get out of the driver seat while it is rolling; holds it to a top speed of 50 km/h (Off, 60 or 40 in the Mod Options Menu); keeps rolling through what it smashes (something solid still stops it); holds a low gear on steep climbs and shifts down properly after slowing; no easy tip-overs right after it is called in.
- APC Engine Torque (x1.2 / x1.35 / x1.5): quicker off the line and up slopes, same top speed.
- APC Weight (x1.5 / x2 / x2.5): more mass, so it hits harder and gets pushed around less. Engine and brakes are scaled with it.
- APC Brakes (x2 / x3 / x4): stronger brakes; it holds still once stopped and slows like a heavy vehicle off the throttle.
- APC Grip (x1.1 / x1.2 / x1.3): less sliding on slopes and in turns.
- APC Steering (Responsive / Quick / Sharp) and APC Throttle Response (Quick / Quicker / Quickest).
- APC Stability (Stable / Planted): downforce at speed, less roll, no rearing up when you floor it, and less spinning after jumps and hits.
- APC Suspension (Balanced / Planted): firmer shocks, no more bouncing.
- APC Vehicle Indicator: an outline of the APC colored by its health, with the direction its gun points.
- APC Gunner Drive: drive from the gunner seat while the driver seat is empty (movement keys, Shift/Ctrl for gears, Space handbrake, F horn), with a driver panel for gear, rpm, speed and fuel. The turret still follows your aim.
- APC Ammo Counter: a tank-style rounds bar and count in the gunner seat, plus the zoom level while aiming.
- APC Gunner View (35° / 45° / 60°): aim the cannon higher; while aiming, the mouse wheel zooms up to 8x (resets when you let go); not aiming, the wheel moves the view back and up. The turret turns at 180° a second (the game's is 20°), so the barrel stays on the crosshair.
Notes
- S or Space not working in the gunner seat? If a key is set for "Gunner Drive: Back" or "Gunner Drive: Handbrake" in the Mod Bindings Menu (Controls, MODS tab, AO ADDON: APC RESTORED), that key replaces the built-in one, so S (brake/reverse) or Space (handbrake) stop working for Gunner Drive. It only affects Gunner Drive; your other bindings and the game's controls are unchanged. Clear those bindings (or set them to S and Space) to get the built-in keys back. The APC Core log's "built-in keys turned off" line shows which keys are off.
- The first time you aim in the gunner seat, hold aim for a few seconds so the add-on can find the aiming camera. It remembers it after that.
- After a game update the add-on finds what it needs in the game again by itself, and remembers it for that game version. If an update changes something a part relies on, that part switches itself off (changing nothing) and says so in its log until the add-on is updated.
