# Jump Pack Recharge v1.1.0

Reduce the regular Jump Pack's recharge from **15 seconds to 7.5 seconds** by default: a **50% shorter recharge time**. Choose your own recharge time through an INI file.

Only the regular Jump Pack recharge setting is modified. Jump strength, height, takeoff/landing timings, other packs, and the stratagem delivery cooldown are unchanged.

## Install or update

1. Close Helldivers 2.
2. Install Bingus Shared Loader v15 or newer / API 1.
3. Replace the previous Jump Pack Half Recharge package with this ZIP. Disable the recharge probe and other mods that change this same timer.
4. Enable this mod and the loader in your mod manager, then Purge / Deploy.
5. Start the game. Allow roughly 60-90 seconds for the initial scan.

## Configure the INI

The first launch creates:

```
%LOCALAPPDATA%\CowboyBingus\Helldivers2\JumpPackHalfRecharge\settings.ini
```

Paste the folder path into File Explorer. Close the game before editing the INI:

```ini
enabled=1
recharge_seconds=7.5
```

- `enabled=1`: enable the mod. Set `0` to disable it on the next launch.
- `recharge_seconds=7.5`: half the stock recharge time.
- `recharge_seconds=5`: five-second recharge.
- `recharge_seconds=15`: stock recharge time.

Accepted values are **0.1 to 300 seconds**, including decimals. Use a decimal **dot**, not a comma. Edit the existing lines; do not add duplicate settings. Invalid settings stop the mod and are reported in STATUS.txt.

**Save and restart the game after every change. No rebuilding or redeploying is needed for INI-only edits.** The file is read once at startup. Future installs preserve your existing INI. Delete it to recreate the defaults on the next launch.

Very short recharge settings may still be limited by flight and animation timing. The 7.5-second setting was confirmed in-game by Miker; other timings are configurable and should be tested.

#UPDATE 1.1 NEW EXPERIMENTAL VALUES#
Here are the new values, all shipped with default setting.
takeoff_force=40
takeoff_duration=0.5
boosted_takeoff_duration=0.75
takeoff_forward_frac=0.4
mid_air_adjustment_speed=4

THESE ARE TESTED! If you modify force, duration slightly too high, you will kill yourself everytime you use it. For me, a good setting that got me about 3 times as far is to keep the force at 40, put takeoff_duration at 0.9 and boosted_takeoff_duration at 0.9. I also put mid_air_adjustment_speed to 20 so I can control myself for a small period of time in a comical way.

## Status and compatibility

```
%LOCALAPPDATA%\CowboyBingus\Helldivers2\JumpPackHalfRecharge\STATUS.txt
```

APPLIED or DONE reports the configured recharge time when the matching table was found. NO MATCH means nothing was changed. The mod verifies the table identity, modifies only the timer, checks the result, and restores the original timer if verification fails.

The scan runs once per game launch, then stops. If the game reloads the component table later in the session, this version does not automatically reapply the change. A game update or another mod editing the same table can cause the identity checks to refuse the patch.

## Uninstall

Disable/remove the mod, Purge / Deploy, and restart the game. Changes exist in the running process only. The optional settings/status folder can be removed afterward.

WHen I applied the mod and booted up a solo game, the moment before my hellpod hits the ground, the game freezes on me and i have no idea why

Just tested it, everything looks and works fine. It isn't as OP as I thought it would be, but it is as fun as I thought it would be <3

I read the readme, followed the instructions i was confused at first (because i never see a "localappdata folder" and i searched manually (it just took me 10 seconds)

after that i just readed "paste in the explorer"

So 2 things i would suggest

start the text with "Paste the next line in the explorer"

i never knew that is possible to do that lol so maybe a second instruction to find it manually for persons distracted as me would be a good extra

i edited the config.ini just as you asked anddddd it worked!

The changes applied and i didn't purgued or deployed again the mod i just edited it, open the game again and Boala, the changes applied

So!

Everything works good
Thanks! I'm still at work so that's very helpful. I'll make the changes tonight to the readme and remove the "NOT TESTED" lol

That is weird, this mod is confirmed to be working by multiple people.

I'm using HD2 Mod Manager, are you using Arsenal? Are you putting the Bingus Shared Loader AFTER my mod? What version od Bingus Shared Loader are you using? I'm using version 16 with at least 10 mods loaded.

Finally, the Jump Pack actually competes with Warp Pack instead of just being hard-powercrept.
AND you can actually use it to get to high ground now without waiting a full minute for 3-4 jumps to high cliffs or buildings, by which point you're better off just moving elsewhere.

Honestly not as OP as you'd think on paper though. Bots and squids can still just dome you right out of the sky with their shadowbuffed accuracy, and bugs were countered by jump packing up to high ground even without the mod. You're still vulnerable and have to actually kill things the same way you already did, and rundiving with or without the jump pack is just as powerful, this just cuts down on waiting time and matches the game's pacing better imo.

All right in the quest of a perfect Jetpack i have started doing experimenting. Lets start with duration: - `recharge seconds=3`: five-second recharge. is my current setting and is basically you land and use it right away, gives a feel of fluidity.

Now i di play with the following setting takeoff_duration=0.5 and increased it to 2. It increases the overall height and forward movement by a lot, i have decided to decrease it to 0.7 as with 2 i was clearing mountains. With this i have figure out that the equation is a graph and the variables are simple: Height lets call it Y and forward lets call it X.

The area under the graph, think of it as a semicircle starting from Y=0 to X=0 to increase both Y and X at the same time use the following setting
Y+X: Experimental: takeoff thrust duration in seconds (stock 0.5). Longer may increase launch impulse; NOT total airtime.
; Allowed: 0.05..3

The following setting controls X specifically by subtracting or dividing the Y. The higher the number the more it will move forward the less upward. at 1 you barely move of the floor but move a lot forward.
; Experimental: forward share of launch force (stock 0.4 = 40%). Higher may trade upward lift for forward travel; 0..1.
; Allowed: 0..1

combining this to inputs can get you where you need to be and quicker than the hover pack like a true Mandalorian my current settings for those are as follow:

; Seconds between uses. Stock 15; shipped 7.5. Flight/animations may limit rapid reuse.
; Allowed: 0.1..300
recharge_seconds=3.5

; Experimental: launch force (stock 40). Higher likely increases height/range; not a height in metres.
; Allowed: 1..100
takeoff_force=40

; Experimental: takeoff thrust duration in seconds (stock 0.5). Longer may increase launch impulse; NOT total airtime.
; Allowed: 0.05..3
takeoff_duration=0.7

; Experimental: separate boosted takeoff thrust duration in seconds (stock 0.75). Conditions selecting this mode are unconfirmed.
; Allowed: 0.05..3
boosted_takeoff_duration=0.75

; Experimental: forward share of launch force (stock 0.4 = 40%). Higher may trade upward lift for forward travel; 0..1.
; Allowed: 0..1
takeoff_forward_frac=0.3

; Experimental: airborne velocity adjustment strength/speed (stock 4). Higher may improve steering; NOT flight duration.
; Allowed: 0..20
mid_air_adjustment_speed=4
