Every citizen has the freedoom to bear anything they want however they want, this time with no design constraints.
In the armory, primaries, sidearms and the support weapons whose stratagems you have unlocked can all be equipped in either weapon slot: a pistol as your primary, two primaries, a primary as your sidearm, a support weapon in either slot. Your choice is kept across restarts.
In the mission too
A support weapon you pick up off the ground replaces the weapon in your hand: primary, sidearm or support weapon, disposables included. With your support slot empty it goes there first, as usual. One taken from its hellpod goes to the support slot; pick it up off the ground to put it anywhere else.
Up to three support weapons
With both rules you can carry a support weapon in all three weapon slots, and your backpack stays on your back.
Every weapon works where you carry it
A spent disposable (EAT, Leveller, Commando, Bullet Storm and similar) carried as a primary or sidearm is refreshed whenever you resupply.
Backpack-fed weapons (Maxigun and similar) fire from your backpack in any weapon slot.
Weapons and backpacks knocked out of a broken hellpod, or dropped where you died, get their pickup prompt back on their own.
A backpack in the grenade slot
Any backpack whose stratagem you own, can be picked in the throwable tab and carried in the grenade slot. In a mission, G swaps it with the backpack on your back. Each keeps its own supplies and ammo, and a resupply refills both. When you die, G gives you a fresh grenade-slot backpack, and a stratagem backpack you had swapped out is left on the ground where you swapped it last (limitation, looking for a fix).
Option
Backpack swap key: the key that swaps the backpack in your grenade slot with the one on your back. G by default, the game's grenade key; if you moved your grenade throw to another key, pick that one.
Requirements
Bingus Shared Loader
Install
Install with your mod manager. This mod contains Suzuka's Dual Support AIO and ships the same addons, so do not enable both: keep only one of them.
Multiplayer
Played through full missions with another player using it, with no crashes. Players without the mod see your weapons and backpack change as usual.
Known issues
Backpack cards in the throwable tab, and a few support weapon pictures such as the Speargun's, are drawn too large in the armory. Cosmetic only.
The B/MD C4 Pack cannot go in the grenade slot due to spaghetti from arrowhea, looking for a fix.
A resupply (a supply box or the Supply Pack) only works when something you carry needs it: the game does not count the backpack in your grenade slot. When only that backpack is low, swap it onto your back with G first or stim, then resupply, found a fix just need to implement it.
Swapping backpacks with G when you are not the host is the least tested part. If you see packs others cannot pick up, or a crash in multiplayer, please report it.
Please report bugs, I have done as much testing as I could alone and with my friends, I looked for edge cases and fixed as many as I found.
Dedicated to my friend who didn't get to play the game.
