PC Echelon Mod Manager 0.36.2

Updates for Helldivers 2
Echelon has a Discord now: Echelon - Dolldivers hub, for news, help, bug reports and share codes. The new Discord button in the bottom bar takes you there.

New
  • What's new. After an update, Echelon shows what changed once, including every version you skipped. The whole changelog is in Settings > System > About > Changelog, and it works offline.
  • Choose where added mods go. The Add to profiles window can put new mods at the end of the list or under one of your separators.
  • Echelon's library for other tools. Echelon keeps a library.json file in its data folder, so other modding tools can read your mods, their options and what's in the game.

Fixed
  • Start game through Proton and Wine. On Linux, the Start button should now ask Steam to start Helldivers 2 instead of doing nothing. If you play on Linux, let us know whether it works for you.
  • Importing from HD2 Arsenal keeps the Nexus pages. If you imported before, run Import from Arsenal... again: mods you already have get their Nexus page added, and nothing else changes.
  • Ticked boxes looked empty for some players. When the Windows user name had an apostrophe or accented letters, checkboxes and radio buttons drew empty. They show their checkmarks again.

Improved
  • Smoother scrolling. The mouse wheel glides through the profile list, also while you drag mods.
  • Offline, Echelon stays quiet. The update check doesn't bother you, and sharing gives you the long code with a plain message.

Your mods, profiles and settings stay as they are. If update checks are on, the Update button in the bottom bar installs it for you.
Fixed
  • "Get it" opens the mod's real page. In a shared profile, mods you don't have yet now link to the mod's own web page, including pages the sharer set by hand, instead of a Nexus search. If you shared a profile before this update, share it again so the code includes your mods' links.
  • Short share codes work again. Sharing has moved to a new server. Short EC- codes and share links work again, and every code made before still opens. Older versions can still share with the long code.

Improved
  • The share web page matches Echelon. The page a share link opens now uses Echelon's colours and name.
  • Adding a missing mod remembers its page. If you add a mod a shared profile was waiting for, it picks up the web page from the share.

Your mods, profiles and settings stay as they are. If update checks are on, the Update button in the bottom bar installs it for you.
New
  • Crash Finder: keep mods loaded. The Crash Finder now opens with a list of your turned-on mods. Tick any you want to stay in the game for every round, such as mods you know are fine or mods the others need. Ticked mods aren't tested. Tick all mods without Lua keeps everything except your Lua mods loaded, so only the Lua mods are tested.
  • "No web page" filter in the Library. Shows the mods Echelon doesn't know the web page of, with a count. Right-click one and choose Set web page..., and Open web page works for it from then on.
  • Set a web page while adding a file. When you drag in a mod file and Echelon can't tell where it came from, the add window has a Web page (optional) box, so you can paste the link while the page is still open in your browser. Mods added through Add from link already remember theirs.

Improved
  • Clearer buttons when several mods are selected. The bar now says Deploy these and Don't deploy these. The old "Unselect" was easy to mistake for clearing the selection.
  • Crash Finder: testing one mod "on its own" leaves out the mods you kept loaded, and Echelon tells you to check those if the tested mods turn out to be fine.

Your mods, profiles and settings stay as they are. If update checks are on, the Update button in the bottom bar installs it for you.
New
  • Add mods from AyakaMods links. Paste a mod's page link into Add from link (or press Ctrl+V in Echelon with the link copied). Echelon opens the page in your browser. Download the file there as usual, and Echelon picks it up from your Downloads folder and asks whether to add it. The mod's web page is saved too, so Open web page works afterwards. Echelon doesn't sign in to the site.
  • Gather Bingus mods here. Right-click the Bingus section in a profile to move every mod that needs the loader into it, in the order they were in. The loader and HD2 SmoothBoot stay where they belong.
  • Import from Arsenal on Linux, or after moving Arsenal's data. Import from Arsenal... is now always in the + menu above the profile list. When Echelon runs through Proton or Wine, it looks for the Linux version of Arsenal in ~/.config/hd2arsenal. If Arsenal's data isn't found, you can pick its hd2a_data.json file yourself.

Improved
  • A clearer message when a site refuses a direct download: Echelon now suggests downloading the file in your browser and dragging it in.
  • Replace with the full download uses a mod's saved AyakaMods page.

The installer is code-signed. Run it over your current version; your mods, profiles and settings stay as they are.

Thanks to TossBoy, AkiraMaseki and Hekadem, whose reports led to this update!
Changed
  • Replacing a mod with a newer download: the "Keep the name" box in the Possible update question now starts unticked. It is ticked by default only when you typed the mod's name yourself in Edit details.

Fixed
  • EXO Stratagem Launcher is no longer treated as a loader. Mods that bring their own startup script were tagged LOADER and locked to the end of the list; they are ordinary mods again. Your library is re-checked once, automatically.
  • Mods with their own startup script no longer show NEEDS LOADER, and their BINGUS badge now says they work alone or together with the loader.

Installer
  • The installer and the app are now digitally signed, so Windows shows a verified publisher instead of "Unknown publisher". SmartScreen may still warn for a while: a new certificate takes time to build reputation.
  • The app's launcher is now compiled from source, which removed every antivirus false positive except one.

Huorong users (火绒)
Huorong still reports this version as Trojan/Python.ShellLoader.am. It is a false positive. Huorong confirmed and cleared the same detection for 0.35.6 and 0.35.7, and 0.35.8 has been reported to them too. Until their database is updated, you can add Echelon to Huorong's trust list (信任区).

Installing over an older version keeps your mods, profiles and settings.
Fixed
  • Replacing a mod with its new version lost your web page and name. When you added a newer download and chose "Replace the old one", the link you had set disappeared and the name went back to the download's name. Replacing now keeps the web page and the solo-only mark, and keeps the old description if the new version has none.
  • "Recently added" sorted mods from the same day by name. Echelon now saves the time a mod was added as well as the date, so the newest mod comes first.

New
  • Keep the name when replacing: the "Possible update" question has a "Keep the name" box. It's ticked by default, unless the old name has a version number in it that you didn't type yourself.
  • Jump to replaced mods: after replacing, Echelon selects the mods that were replaced and scrolls to the first one, so you can see where they sit.
  • HD2 SmoothBoot: Echelon keeps SmoothBoot as the last Bingus mod, right next to the loader, which is where it needs to be. You don't have to place it yourself.
  • Mod Dynamic Loader (MDL): the LOADER badge now names MDL correctly. If both MDL and Bingus Shared Loader are on in one profile, each badge says which one is in charge.

Thanks to everyone who reported these in the comments. Run the new installer over the old one, or use the Update button if you have update checks on. Your mods, profiles and settings stay as they are.
Thanks for all the feedback on day one! This update is built from your requests:

- Open web page: right-click a mod (or several) > Open web page to open its download page in your browser. Set web page... saves the address for mods that don't have one.
- Mod versions: each mod now shows its version in the Library, filled in from the download's file name, the mod's manifest or its name. You can change it in Edit details. Together with Open web page, checking for updates is a quick compare.
- Translation with the English interface: mods written in Chinese, Japanese, Korean or Russian can be translated into your interface language. Turn it on in Settings > General > Mod text.

Echelon still doesn't go online to check for updates by itself. These make checking by hand quick instead.
