New
- Echelon Lite. A plain, calm look with every feature and none of the effects or story: profiles, the Library, Deploy, Purge, clashes, sharing, the mod tools and the HellForge drawer are all there. It's lighter on older PCs and easier on the eyes. The first time you start 0.39, Echelon asks which look you want. You can switch anytime in Settings > Display > Look. Reloaded stays exactly as it was.
- Select all. Right-click the mod list > Select all, or press Ctrl+A.
- New notices. The pop-ups in the corner are bigger and easier to read.
- HellForge drawer: Send to HellForge from a mod's right-click menu, drag mods to reorder, a PREMIUM tag, Sync Inventory on the Helldiver tab, and a HellForge help link to SkyeShade's Discord.
Changed
- Effects cost much less. With every effect on, the Library uses about a third of the CPU it did, and the mod list about half. They look the same.
- Dragging mods in the list shows straight away, and the HellForge drawer fits small windows.
- Glitch effects only flicker the logo now, not the window edges.
- HD2 Arsenal has its own INSPIRED BY section in the credits: design ideas only, no code from it is in Echelon.
Fixed
- The Library stuttered while scrolling with Scanlines on.
- The Repatcher said nothing needed repatching while some mods hadn't been checked yet. Repatch selected stays greyed out until you tick a mod.
Your mods, profiles and settings stay as they are. If update checks are on, the Update button in the bottom bar installs it for you.
New
- List film. Settings > Motion Lab > List film sets how dark the panel behind the mod list is: 20%, 40% (the default) or 60%.
Changed
- The UPLINK page says "Opens in a later update." It's sealed on purpose, not broken.
Fixed
- Early test copies of 0.38.0 now get updates. If you downloaded a 0.38.0 test copy here before the public release, this update reaches you as normal.
- HellForge 0.1.x: the HellForge drawer now says Echelon needs HellForge 0.2.0 or newer, with an UPDATE HELLFORGE button.
Your mods, profiles and settings stay as they are. If update checks are on, the Update button in the bottom bar installs it for you.
PLEASE REDOWNLOAD 0.38 IF YOU HAVE NOT ALREADY. THE UPDATE THAT WENT OUT EARLIER WAS STILL THE TESTER BUILD BEFORE BUG FIXES. IF YOU ARE EXPERIENCING ISSUES WITH 0.38, YOU ARE LIKELY ON THE TESTER BUILD. APOLOGIES FOR THE INCONVENIENCE!
If you don't want to update, don't worry. 0.38.1 will be coming out later today or tomorrow addressing small fixes, so it will get patched properly for you. If you auto updated from the app, this problem does not apply to you as the github version _is_ the public version, and you should have the correct update already.
New
- Echelon Reloaded. The whole terminal is redrawn: new boot screen, header, sidebar, mod list, dock and pop-ups. D. has a package for you on the first start.
- HellForge drawer. If you use SkyeShade's HellForge, a new button under the badge opens its own terminal inside Echelon: Overview, Helldiver, Mods, Matchmaking and Logs, and your Echelon loadouts sent straight to it.
- Mod updates from Nexus. CHECK FOR UPDATES on the Library page asks Nexus (with your own API key) whether your mods have newer files. Nothing downloads unless you press it.
- Motion Lab: a Settings tab for the terminal's effects. Pick FULL, CALM or OFF, or switch each effect on its own.
- New Library, redesigned tools and a Credits page.
Changed
- Settings is now a page inside the main window, with a Connections tab and a Work offline switch.
- No more "load order" wording. Echelon says which mod wins.
Fixed
- Resizing the window no longer stutters.
Your mods, profiles and settings stay as they are. If update checks are on, the Update button in the bottom bar installs it for you.

New
- See your manifest in the Mod Builder. A new Manifest row under the build checks (closed by default) shows the exact manifest.json your mod gets, updated as you edit. Copy puts it on the clipboard, Bigger view shows it in its own window, and Open in editor opens it in your own text editor: each time you save there, Echelon checks it and fills in the builder from it. Broken saves are refused with a note on what's wrong, and fields the builder has no box for (like "Author") are kept. (Thanks, Scarpheon!)
- The OUTSIDE BINGUS tag uses your separator's name. Renamed the Bingus separator to "LUA"? The tag now reads OUTSIDE LUA. (Thanks, BleachDrinker9K!)
Changed
- Settings has a new layout. Pages are picked from a list on the left: General, Mods & game, Display and About. Every setting is still there, some with clearer names, and the window now has Echelon's own look.
Fixed
- Mod tooltips no longer flicker on small screens. Wide tooltips now wrap. (Thanks, lemuro!)
- Application zoom goes back to 100 % properly after Restart now.
- Leftover update installers are cleaned up from your temp folder when Echelon starts. (Thanks, Cheyanne!)
Run the new installer over your current install. Your mods, profiles and settings stay as they are.
Changed
- OUTSIDE BINGUS is a soft warning now. Grouping script mods in your own separators is fine if they work there. The Before you Deploy check still mentions it on your first Deploy, but it no longer opens again on later Deploys just because of it.
- New switch: Settings > Mod management > Warn about loader mods outside the Bingus section. On by default. Turn it off to hide the OUTSIDE BINGUS tag and its warnings completely. (Thanks, Katzenwerfer!)
Fixed
- The window no longer grows when you switch profiles. Long header text is cut instead. (Thanks, Cheyanne!)
Your mods, profiles and settings stay as they are. If update checks are on, the Update button in the bottom bar installs it for you.
New
- Quick start tour. A short tour of the library, profiles, options, load order, separators, the Bingus section, badges, and Deploy and Purge. Skip it on any card, and replay it with the ? button or Settings > System. Everyone sees it once after updating.
- Before you Deploy. Your first Deploy starts with a live checklist: game closed, no mods from other managers, the loader in the profile, loader mods inside the Bingus section, options picked. After that it only speaks up when something needs a look.
- Loader lock. HD2 SmoothBoot, HD2R Editor and HD2Runtime stay where they have to load, right next to Bingus/MDL. Tagged LOADER LOCK, and it can be switched off in Settings > Mod management.
- HD2R tag for HD2Runtime and HD2R Editor mods.
- OUTSIDE BINGUS warning for loader mods dragged out of the Bingus section, since they may not load from there.
- Share pages say where to get Echelon, and the share window warns about mods with no web page saved.
Fixed
- "Certificate verify failed" errors on update checks and Add from link: Echelon now retries with its own certificate list.
Your mods, profiles and settings stay as they are. If update checks are on, the Update button in the bottom bar installs it for you.
New
- Choose which downloads folder Echelon watches. Settings > Directories > Downloads to watch. Add from link (Nexus, AyakaMods) picks up the browser download from that folder instead of always the Windows Downloads folder.
Fixed
- Removing a mod deletes its files again. Since 0.36.3, Remove from library left the mod's folder in storage. It's deleted again now, and the first time you start 0.36.4, Echelon clears out the folders left behind by mods you removed under 0.36.3. Thanks to lemuro for reporting it.
- Mods that add their own texts keep them. Custom stratagems no longer lose their name after repatching, and aren't marked NEEDS REPATCH just for having their own texts.
- Mods whose manifest only lists subfolders keep their main files, as a Main files option that's on by default.
- MDL badge when Mod Dynamic Loader is the loader in charge, instead of always BINGUS.
- The Deploy button keeps its size when changes are pending, so the window no longer shifts.
Your mods, profiles and settings stay as they are. If update checks are on, the Update button in the bottom bar installs it for you.
Thank you for over 1,000 downloads in Echelon's first week!
New
- A new boot screen: the Echelon badge in a turning targeting ring, start-up checks and a progress bar. It plays a little slower once after each update so you get to see it; every other start stays quick, and a click skips it.
- "Saved only" translations: Settings > General > Mod text has a new middle choice that shows the translations Echelon already saved, without going online. They keep working offline.
Fixed
- HD2 Retagger can read mods in Echelon's library. Library folders are now named "Mod name (id)" instead of "Mod name [id]", because square brackets confused Retagger and other PowerShell tools. Your folders are renamed once on the first start of 0.36.3; nothing else about your mods changes.
- Linux (Proton): the Update button now updates the copy you're running. Before, it could install a second copy, so starting Echelon from a Steam shortcut opened the old version again.
- Linux: a 7-Zip placed in Echelon's own folder (7z.exe and 7z.dll) is now used on purpose, and Echelon explains what to do when 7-Zip is missing under Proton or Wine.
Improved
- Settings > System > About now lists the official download pages, so you can tell the real Echelon from lookalike copies.
- A few more Girls' Frontline touches in the boot screen and progress messages. Mods, Deploy and Purge keep their plain names.
Your mods, profiles and settings stay as they are. If update checks are on, the Update button in the bottom bar installs it for you.
Echelon has a Discord now: Echelon - Dolldivers hub, for news, help, bug reports and share codes. The new Discord button in the bottom bar takes you there.
New
- What's new. After an update, Echelon shows what changed once, including every version you skipped. The whole changelog is in Settings > System > About > Changelog, and it works offline.
- Choose where added mods go. The Add to profiles window can put new mods at the end of the list or under one of your separators.
- Echelon's library for other tools. Echelon keeps a library.json file in its data folder, so other modding tools can read your mods, their options and what's in the game.
Fixed
- Start game through Proton and Wine. On Linux, the Start button should now ask Steam to start Helldivers 2 instead of doing nothing. If you play on Linux, let us know whether it works for you.
- Importing from HD2 Arsenal keeps the Nexus pages. If you imported before, run Import from Arsenal... again: mods you already have get their Nexus page added, and nothing else changes.
- Ticked boxes looked empty for some players. When the Windows user name had an apostrophe or accented letters, checkboxes and radio buttons drew empty. They show their checkmarks again.
Improved
- Smoother scrolling. The mouse wheel glides through the profile list, also while you drag mods.
- Offline, Echelon stays quiet. The update check doesn't bother you, and sharing gives you the long code with a plain message.
Your mods, profiles and settings stay as they are. If update checks are on, the Update button in the bottom bar installs it for you.
