Gub's Belt Fed Universal Grenade Launcher
Ever wanted the BFGL to spit out something other than grenades? This mod turns the GL-28 Belt-Fed Grenade Launcher into a two-mode launcher loaded with rounds borrowed from across the arsenal. Hold Reload in a mission to switch between your two rounds, the same way you swap ammo on the Autocannon or Recoilless Rifle.
How it works
The BFGL gets two ammo modes, and you choose what goes in each one.
The default loadout is De-Escalator in the first slot and Leveller in the second.
Available rounds
Each mode shows its own label in the Reload menu: STANDARD, INCENDIARY, HE MK2, ARC, HEAT MK2, STUN, HEAT, HE or APHET.

- First round (normal mode): the BFGL keeps firing its own grenade, with the same flight, arc and feel, but it hits and explodes like the round you pick. Pick De-Escalator and every grenade lands with an arc blast. Pick EMS Shell and every grenade drops a stun field. Pick Leveller and, well, stand back.
- Second round (special mode): the BFGL fires the chosen round itself, with that round's own projectile, flight and effects. It uses the game's native ammo-switching system, the same method as the Speargun Gas / Stun mod.
The default loadout is De-Escalator in the first slot and Leveller in the second.
Available rounds
- Standard: the vanilla BFGL grenade (first round only)
- Napalm: EAT-700 Expendable Napalm, sets targets on fire
- Ultimatum: GP-20 Ultimatum heavy shell
- De-Escalator: GL-52 arc round
- Leveller: EAT-411 Leveller, an enormous blast
- EMS Shell: A/M-23 EMS Mortar shell, leaves a stun field
- Quasar: LAS-99 Quasar Cannon shot
- Plasma Bolt: PLAS-1 Scorcher plasma bolt
- Emancipator: EXO-49 Emancipator cannon round
Each mode shows its own label in the Reload menu: STANDARD, INCENDIARY, HE MK2, ARC, HEAT MK2, STUN, HEAT, HE or APHET.
Controls
- Hold Reload: switch between your first and second round.
- Page Up / Page Down: cycle the second round.
- Escape > MODS > Gub's Beltfed Universal Grenade Launcher: choose both rounds, then press APPLY.
Requirements
- Bingus Shared Loader v15 or newer. Use v18 or newer if you use Mod Options Menu.
- HD2Runtime 0.28.0 or newer, by SkyeShade.
- Mod Options Menu (recommended), by CowboyBingus. Without it, the mod runs with the default De-Escalator / Leveller loadout.
Installation (Arsenal or HD2MM)
- Close the game.
- Import Bingus Shared Loader, HD2Runtime, Mod Options Menu and this mod, then enable them all.
- Put Bingus Shared Loader last in the load order.
- Purge, then Deploy.
- In a mission, call in a fresh BFGL.
Notes
- After changing rounds in the MODS menu, call in a new BFGL. One already on the field may keep its old rounds.
- Every round except the EMS Shell is preloaded at startup for fast switching. The EMS Shell loads the first time you use it.
- Leveller and Ultimatum in the first slot fire at the BFGL's full rate. Mind your distance.
- Only the BFGL is changed. No other weapon's damage or behavior is touched.
- These are local edits. How they appear to other players in multiplayer isn't guaranteed.
