EXPERIMENTAL FEATURES
1. DYNAMIC IN-GAME NAME CHANGING
Change your Helldiver's displayed name directly inside the game!
No need to modify your Steam profile name! No need to use external name-changing tools! Manage your in-game identity through the Mod Options Menu! Your modified name is visible to other players in multiplayer!
2. MULTIPLAYER COMPATIBILITY — NO MOD REQUIRED FOR OTHER PLAYERS!
YES, YOU READ THAT CORRECTLY! 
Your custom in-game name can be displayed correctly to other players EVEN IF THEY DO NOT HAVE THIS MOD INSTALLED!
Your fellow Helldivers do not need to install any additional mods just to see your new name!

3. RESTORE YOUR ORIGINAL STEAM NAME
Want to return to your original Steam identity?No problem!
The Ministry of Science has included a dedicated option to restore your original Steam account name directly in-game.
YOUR ORIGINAL IDENTITY IS ONLY ONE COMMAND AWAY!
HOW TO USE
Change Your In-Game Name
- Open the Mod Options Menu in-game.
- Find the Experimental Identity Management System settings.
- Select Edit Nickname.
- Press TAB.
- A name-entry window will appear.
- Enter your desired in-game name.
- Click Save.
DONE! YOUR IN-GAME NAME HAS BEEN CHANGED!Your Steam profile name remains unchanged!
Restore Your Original Steam Name
- Open the Mod Options Menu.
- Select Restore Steam Name.
- Press TAB.
Your original Steam nickname will be restored immediately! REQUIREMENTS
This experimental system requires:- Bingus Shared Loader (BSL) — v19 or newer recommended
- Mod Options Menu — v1.2 or newer recommended

The Ministry of Science developed this system for ONE PURPOSE ONLY:To provide legitimate in-game nickname customization without forcing players to change their Steam account names.
This mod is NOT intended to provide anonymity for malicious activities, impersonation, harassment, or evasion of player moderation tools.
THE FOLLOWING BEHAVIORS ARE STRICTLY PROHIBITED:
- Impersonating other players or deliberately using misleading identities to deceive others.
- Changing names to re-enter another player's lobby under a different identity for the purpose of trolling, harassment, or sabotage.
- Using alternate nicknames to evade blocks, bans, or other player-imposed restrictions.
- Repeatedly changing identities to disrupt multiplayer sessions or avoid accountability.
- Any other malicious abuse of the identity-changing functionality.
IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM THE DEVELOPER
I created this mod because Helldivers 2 ties in-game player names to Steam account names, which is unnecessarily inconvenient for players who simply want a different in-game nickname.I strongly oppose using this mod to impersonate others, evade blocks, or intentionally disrupt multiplayer games.
If this mod becomes widely abused for malicious purposes, I may consider discontinuing future updates or removing the mod entirely.
Please use this feature responsibly and respect other players.
