Railgun Overcharge Warning

Charging the RS-422 Railgun in unsafe mode is a guessing game: fire too early and you lose damage, hold too long and it explodes in your hands. This mod adds a short, futuristic warning that tells you exactly when the charge is at its best.

Features

• A coil-charge warning (two quick pulses, then a rising charge with electric crackle and a final ping) plays while you charge in unsafe mode.
• The final ping lands exactly as the charge reaches 90%, where the Railgun does full damage. Fire on the ping.
• Silent in safe mode (it reads the game's own charge value) and silent on quick shots (it stops as soon as you fire or let go).
• Every other Railgun sound stays exactly as the game has it.

Install

1. Mod manager (Arsenal / HD2 Mod Manager): add the zip and enable it.
2. Manual: copy the three 9ba626afa44a3aa3.patch_0 files into Helldivers 2\data, renaming them to the next free patch number if needed.

Uninstall
Disable it in your mod manager, or delete the three patch files.

Compatibility

• Conflicts with other mods that replace the Railgun's sounds (content/audio/wep_railgun). Only one can be active.
• Made for the September 2026 game version; a patch to the Railgun's audio may need an update.
• Client-side only, no requirements.

Known limitations

• Timed for the normal unsafe charge (90% after 2.5 seconds).
• You may also hear it from other players' Railguns.

How it works
One sound is added to the game's own Railgun sound bank. It starts with the charge-up, delayed so it ends 2.5 seconds in, and its volume follows the game's Railgun charge value, so it stays silent until the charge is past what safe mode can reach. No stats, damage or gameplay are changed.
