SORA NO KISEKI THE 1ST - MULTI-LANGUAGE PATCHER v2.8.0
================================================================

Made exclusively for AyakaMods - Not for redistribution.

The distributed app contains no game localization payload. It can import English,
French, German, or Spanish from the source game, with an independent option to
replace the Asian voices with English voices.

REQUIREMENTS
- A 'legitimate' multi-language source installation containing script, table, and image archives for:
English (_en), French (_fr), German (_de), and Spanish (_es) (This works on repacks) VERSION 1.0.7 MANDATORY
plus:
pac\steam\movie_en.pac
pac\steam\voice_en.pac
- An installed Asian Steam version of Sora no Kiseki the 1st.
- Approximately 10 GB free during installation (the voice archive alone expands
to roughly 4.4 GB; temporary extraction and installed copies briefly coexist).

USAGE
1. Exit both games.
2. Run "Sora1-Multi-Language-Patcher-v2.4.2.exe".
3. Select the multi-language installation as the source.
4. Select Sora no Kiseki the 1st as the destination.
5. Select the Asian locale and the language to import.
6. Check "Keep Japanese voices" to preserve the destination voices. Leave it
unchecked to install the English voice archive.
7. Click "Install from Game".

LANGUAGE BEHAVIOR
- English imports English text, tables, images, and movies.
- French, German, and Spanish import their respective text, tables, and images.
No matching localized movie archives exist, so destination movies are retained.
- "Keep Japanese voices" is independent of text language. Check it to preserve
the destination voices; leave it unchecked to install English voices.

OPTION 1 - STEAMOS / STEAM DECK PACKAGE BUILDER
After selecting both installations, the language, voice option, and Asian locale,
click "Build SteamOS Package". The patcher extracts the selected data and creates
a portable ZIP containing the locale-mapped loose payload, native Asian DLC
tables, optional English voices, SHA-256 manifest, and install.sh.

OPTION 2 - PORTABLE WINDOWS PREPACKAGE BUILDER
On the PC containing the English game, select its installation and click
"Build Windows Payload". The resulting ZIP contains all four supported languages,
English movies and voices, plus a SHA-256 manifest. Copy that ZIP and the
small patcher EXE to the Asian-game PC. There, select the ZIP and Asian game,
then click "Install from Payload". The English game is not required on that PC.

The portable payload contains copyrighted game data and is intended only for
personal transfer between PCs where the user owns both games. Do not distribute
the generated payload ZIP.

On the SteamOS machine, extract the ZIP in Desktop Mode and run:
chmod +x install.sh
./install.sh install

The shell installer auto-detects common Steam libraries and also supports:
./install.sh verify
./install.sh uninstall
./install.sh install --game-dir "/full/path/to/Sora No Kiseki the 1st"

The SteamOS installer automatically configures the game's Proton prefix to load
xinput1_4.dll as native, builtin. Launch the game through Steam once before running
the installer so compatdata/3447040/pfx exists. Uninstall restores the previous
DLL override value.

The patcher validates all source PACs as FPAC archives, extracts them to a random
temporary directory, hashes every extracted file, maps the selected language to the
selected Asian locale, installs the loose files, verifies them, then deletes the
temporary extraction. Official PAC archives and executables are not modified.
For Windows installs, voice_en is mapped to the Asian executable's expected
loose-file root named voice.

DLC COMPATIBILITY
Localized DLC names and descriptions are installed from the selected table archive,
but the
patcher deliberately preserves t_dlc_appid_convert.tbl and t_costume.tbl from the
Asian destination's own table_<locale>.pac. This keeps regional Steam entitlement
checks correct for legitimately owned Asian DLC.

RECOVERY
Backups and installation state are stored under:
<Asian game>\.sora1_english_patch\

Repair operations preserve the original first-install backups. Uninstall removes
files created by the patch and restores anything that existed beforehand.

The executable is an unsigned Microsoft IExpress self-extracting wrapper. Windows
may display a standard unknown-publisher warning. The reproducible wrapper build
script and launcher are included under "source" for inspection.

The included xinput1_4.dll is the Sora1 loose-file loader by Hinki/Hinkii and is
redistributed under the author's published reuse permissions. It contains no
English game localization content.

Thanks for this! Could you make a patch for the English audio/voice files as well?

I was already working on Payloads for Windows and SteamOS, I added the English voices in this last update. I overlooked them because initially the voices didn't have any references in the asian locales. I had to remap voice_en\wav to voice\wav to make it work.

Restore your game and repatch.

Hi elytham,

Thank you for the tool! The English patch works fine, but I have two questions:

First, the Western version actually includes official French localization files (_fr.pac / asset_fr). When trying to point to them, the patcher throws the error [ERROR: Unknown payload root: asset_fr]. Would it be possible to add built-in support/mapping for the official French assets alongside the English ones?

And second, the patch automatically overrides the audio with the English voices (voice_en). Is there a way (or could you add a toggle) to keep the original Japanese voice acting while using the translated text?

Thanks a lot for your work ❤️

Absolutely, let me make sure the french are present in the version I have. I can also add a tick box for whether or not to add voices.

**Edit

Please restore and repatch your game. The update is live, please redownload.

Hi elytham,

Thank you again for the mod and for implementing the other languages!

I’m currently playing the game and ran into a bug: whenever I use a potion or any consumable item through the option menu (outside of battle), the game crashes instantly (here the video).

I tested this on the unmodded version and everything works fine, so it seems related to the mod. I'm not sure if the issue is specific to the French localization files or something else?

Thanks for taking a look!

I'll investigate this. it's probably related to the tables mismatching language.

*Edit:
The source build is substantially older than the Asian executable, so copying whole gameplay tables imports old non-text metadata even when the visible translation is valid.

*Edit 2:
The crashes were caused by translated strings using placeholders in a different order or omitting them entirely than the Asian executable expected. This made the game interpret numbers as memory addresses. The fix preserves the Asian tables and metadata while safely merging translated text, correcting incompatible placeholders in French and Spanish. French, German, and Spanish were subsequently tested successfully with Japanese voices.

New version is live, restore and repatch. Thanks for live testing this for me. Good bug finds.

No worries at all !
Thank you for creating this mod. I'll keep playing and let you know if I run into any other bugs.

Turns out I hadn’t seen your second edit yet, so in the meantime I had actually updated my source game files...Well, hey... at least the dialogues are up to date now lmao xD

I'll restore the clean files and apply the new patch right away!

* Edit :

I tested the new build, but now the game crashes instantly as soon as I open the options menu, without touching anything.
I checked on the English patch as well, and it runs into the exact same crash.

I can't replicate this issue. What version/repack are you using for source?
