Updated for the October 29 game update (7.2.2), which changed the stratagem file, so 1.0.3 was rejected ("does not match your game's stratagem_settings").

1.0.4 makes the same change on the new file: stratagem balls stay where they land. In Medic File Mod Merger: remove 1.0.3, add 1.0.4, press Apply with the game closed.

• Now uses the shared installer of our file mods, so it works side by side with Consistent Vaulting (tick both). Same stratagem change as 1.0.2, byte for byte.
• Backup and log names changed: HD2FileMods.generated_stratagem_settings.dl_bin.original and HD2FileMods.log (1.0.2's backup is taken over automatically).

Update: replace the zip, keep both options ticked, Purge and Deploy, then launch, exit once and relaunch.

• Fixed "payload not found" (log: ERR payload not found) with HD2 Arsenal and large mod lists: the mod's data now lives in its own small archive, so its position no longer depends on how many other mods you have. Tested with Arsenal 0.37.1.
• Mod managers tick every option when you add a mod, and with 1.0.1 that meant "uninstall" - nothing got installed. Options are now "Stratagem Balls Stay Put" (the mod) and "Uninstall helper": with both ticked it installs. To uninstall: untick "Stratagem Balls Stay Put", keep "Uninstall helper", deploy, launch and exit once, then disable the mod.
• The version is now in the mod's name in your mod manager and in every line of StratagemBallsStayPut.log.

Works on the October 22 hotfix. The hotfix re-encrypted the stratagem file without changing it, so Steam put the stock file back and 1.0.0 refused to touch the new one (log: REFUSE). If your balls started rolling off again after the hotfix, this is why.

The installer now recognises several known versions of the file, so uninstalling also works with a backup made by 1.0.0.
