SRV-01 Super Recon Vehicle

Warning / Multiplayer Disclaimer

This mod significantly alters FRV performance and does provide a gameplay advantage compared with the vanilla vehicle. It is intended for use in private lobbies with consenting players only.

The increased performance comes with major drawbacks: reduced vehicle mass makes the FRV much easier for enemies and impacts to throw around, while its increased speed makes rollovers and crashes substantially more dangerous.

The SRV-01 is an experimental high-mobility derivative of the standard Fast Recon Vehicle, designed around one simple doctrine:

If the enemy can’t catch you, armor becomes considerably less important.

Developed through a multi-billion Super Credit mobility program, the SRV-01 sheds a significant amount of the standard FRV’s mass through advanced composite construction, aggressive structural optimization, and the removal of several Ministry-designated “nonessential” safety components.

The result is a substantially faster, more responsive vehicle with improved rough-terrain performance.

Vehicle Coverage: This mod affects both FRV variants, the standard M-102 FRV and the M-103 Supply FRV.

Features

  • Significantly reduced vehicle mass
  • Increased acceleration and top speed
  • Faster automatic transmission shifts
  • Larger effective wheel radius
  • Softer, long-travel suspension for rough terrain
  • Improved tire grip
  • Lower center of mass for better high-speed stability
  • Increased friction on common terrain materials
  • Ice retains its normal low-friction behavior

Trade-offs

  • Significantly easier to flip or lose control at high speed
  • Crashes are significantly more dangerous
  • Enemies can push, rotate, or displace the vehicle much more easily
  • Reduced mass makes impacts and explosions affect the FRV more dramatically
  • High speed makes rough terrain far less forgiving

Terrain Changes

Common terrain types including dirt, sand, mud, grass, gravel, stone, concrete, and snow have increased friction to improve vehicle traction across planets.

Specialized materials such as ice, water, oil, lava, vehicle bodies, and character materials are left unchanged.

Compatibility

This mod modifies the vehicle physics of both FRV variants, as well as global terrain-material physics.

It may conflict with other mods replacing the same vehicle or global Havok physics resources.

The terrain changes are global and may affect other vehicles or physics interactions using those surfaces.

Great mod but do you think you could raise the mass at least a little? I get thats the point but I had a fire hydrant explode near it while it was at full health and it genuinely flew into a wall at 200 mph and exploded on impact.
