Performance hits still unacceptably large.

The concept is solid, but it causes pretty extreme FPS loses even on the 50ms settings on a high end PC. Dropping from 110~ fps to as low as 40fps as a result of what should be a fairly minor mod is unacceptable, regardless of the idea.

Needs serious optimization so the effects are only active in missions, with tanks available in loadouts or only actively called onto the battlefield.
