The PS2 compatibility list says that "SLUS_20777 loads with no fps drops but there is a blinding white flickering that fills the screen during gameplay". I've witnessed this and it's agony. Is there any fix for this yet?

you need to be member first,it is easy, only then you can see the fpkg threads.the new ps2 threads name is 00002,at psxhax.com

you only need to get your account verified by them, its easy as i remember you send a message to a specific thread.

@Curtis Balance Hey dude...here are all my remakes so far on psxhax in the thread under 00002. I have a few more as that list was from mid Feb. off hand I can think of Dark cloud 1 and 2 with codebreaker, and also Darkwatch with codebrekaer etc are now completed.

Thanks for the links man! I'm actually just looking for help with fixing the issue of the white flickering on Obscure though. I make all my own fpkg files from my physical PS2 discs. Did you make a config file to fix the issue?

i didn't notice any flickering???? played a couple hours on both games too???

When I make a pkg file with the PS2 Classics GUI for Obscure there's this white flickering that's like a strobe light constantly going. This is also sited on the PS2 classics compatibility list. It happens when I try it with the NA or Pal. Which EMU did you use? Was is the JAK one? Obscure 2 runs fine.

hmmm i made it so long ago? it was either the jak or the jak2 emulator i would say? download my obscure and try it! I didn't notice anything? maybe it is regional ps4? im from canada

I'll try yours and then I'll try making it with a few other EMUs. I didn't try the JAK one yet. I'm in Canada too :D

That's my up to date list

Yes please try mine...I didn't notice any flickering>? CodeBreaker works well on it (Just the intro part where you go down the tunnel etc is unaffected because it is basically a scripted cinematic to the game.....when you get into the regular game play its great!!)

It's one of my favourite games! I just played through it again last week on my jailbroken ps3 (because of the flickering on ps4) but I'll make a new version soon to try when I get time. I wish they'd remaster it or something. The steam remaster is decent but I want something current looking. Such a great concept for a game. It's like playing an early 2000's teen horror movie.

Ya like i said i really didn't notice any flickering???? I'm currently trying to rebuild two difficult game so I haven't had a chance to jump back into Obscure but I'm positive my .pkg didn't have any flicker?! (I could be totally wrong wrong though)

What PS2onPS4 pkgs do you have? I'm trying to find ones that surfaced that "no working version" was labelled as, but somehow someone somewhere got it to work?!

Eg The suffering , and The Suffering 2.....yet they are floating out there and claim to work!? (Russian no doubt) I finally managed to download the first one (after leaving uttorent on for like 2 weeks ughhhhhhhhhh) so I'm curious to A/ extract it. B/ see if it actually does run!?

By the way......You use the PS2 Classics Gui ------I've never been able to get that to work I get errors and if it does create a .pkg and If I use PS4PKGViewer By LMAN it says it isn't a valid ps4 .pkg

I build them all manually. I learned from Sabin1981 and I also compress them which he told me to do and have not had any issues!! And on my list you can see a few games that are even listed as not working on the compatibility chart :)

Ya shoot me a list of your remakes ....curious to see if you have some i'm totally missing or couldn't get to work!

Cheers

You'd notice the flickering if you had it. It makes it unplayable. It's a bright white flickering over the whole screen constantly. Hopefully the JAK emu fixes it. :D

Did you download the newest version of the PS2 Classics GUI? The current builds work much better. I was having trouble with it until the more recent builds.

I don't have anything rare. I just have the Silent Hill games (my shattered memories is glitchy with some flickering - is yours???), the Resident Evil games and the Obscures for now. I don't really play many PS2 games besides survival horror. I'm gonna make the Fatal Frames soon and a few others. One game that doesn't seem to work that I want is The Thing but I haven't tried the JAK emu yet. I haven't heard of anyone with a working copy and I really want to play it. It just freezes at the loading screen. I couldn't get it to work on my jailbroken PS3 either. The JAK emu only starting working on the PS2 Classics GUI recently so that's why I haven't been using it in the past. Do you find that the JAK emu is the best one for all games or does it vary by game? I have some games that work seemingly perfect or close to perfect with the Max Payne EMU but if the JAK one is always better I'll recreate mine. Only issue I saw in Silent Hill 4 was that the texture on the fridge sometimes flickered and the giant worm in the sewer and water plant is just bright and multi coloured like a rainbow. The rest of the game worked perfect. Did you notice this issues in yours?

I just use my jailbroken PS4 as a PS2 lol. I have clean artwork that I made up for the game icons and background images for the loading screens so it all looks retail. I dig it! I just hope the PS5 ends up being backwards compatible with every gen so I don't need to keep 3 consoles lol. Granted even if it is BC with PS2 the games probably won't be widescreen like the PS4 with patches.
