Blood Debt v2.5.1 — Honor Guard Update
Honor Guard / Reinforced Epaulettes
HONOR GUARDS CAN NOW ROOOOOOLL!
- Added a forward roll, usable while standing still or moving.
- Rolling and diving grant a temporary shield:
- Each charge lasts 3 seconds.
- Hold up to 2 simultaneous charges, each with its own duration.
- Shield health is adjustable from 25 to 500 HP per charge, with 200 HP by default.
- The shield provides temporary health; it does not grant invulnerability.
Melee combat
- Added AP +2 to supported melee weapons.
- Honor Guards do not gain extra damage, but they do gain extra armor penetration.
- Added health recovery when dealing melee damage.
- More restrained than Peak Physique’s ridiculous healing, with recovery limits per second.
- Added 20% damage reduction while wielding a supported melee weapon.
- Keeping it in your inventory does not activate this protection.
- Combines with the game’s existing damage reductions.
Roll customization
- Added options to the mod menu to:
- Enable or disable rolling.
- Adjust roll distance between 1 and 10 meters.
- Choose Space, Ctrl, T, or Left Alt as the roll key.
- Enable an optional stamina cost and adjust how much each roll consumes.
- Enable or disable the shield and adjust its health.
- Added support for Bingus Mod Bindings Menu to assign a custom button.
- Dive protection follows the Helldiver’s actual dive state, so it works even if you rebind the dive button.
HUD indicators
- Added a white Honor Guard HUD icon, adapted from the original Reinforced Epaulettes emblem.
- The emblem appears while Honor Guard is active.
- A ring around the emblem indicates that melee damage reduction is active.
- A small shield indicates that temporary protection from a roll or dive remains.
Maybe this won’t look like anything “WOW” to everyone, but this part took a lot out of me. My eye even started twitching from the stress LOL, even with help from AI xDDD
I’m no Blender expert, and although I sometimes hate it, I keep learning. Between all the testing, mistakes, and frustration, I also had a lot of fun making this.
It might not be perfect, but I put a lot of effort and care into giving melee a little more love and making each armor passive feel different to play.
I know Helldivers isn’t Dark Souls . Still, I wanted to try something different and prove to myself that the game’s own tools can offer new ways to play.
Hope you have as much fun rolling toward questionable decisions as I had making this xDDD
