A free, open-source mod manager for Helldivers 2 that works with mods from anywhere: AyakaMods, Nexus Mods, ModWorkshop, GameBanana, GitHub, any direct download link, or files already on your disk.

AyakaMods is a first-class citizen in DDMM. Paste an AyakaMods mod link and DDMM takes it from there.

The DDMM Promise​

Every Helldiver takes an oath. This one's ours.
  • Every mod is welcome. DDMM will never block, blacklist, or rank mods or mod sites.
  • No account, anywhere. DDMM never asks for any mod site's login.
  • Your files, your choice. Your mods live in a folder you control.
  • Open source, forever. Apache-2.0, today and always.
  • Updates on your terms. Update checks only run when you click "Check for Updates" — never in the background.

Features​

  • Install from AyakaMods in one paste. Click "Add URL", paste the mod page link. DDMM opens it in your browser, you click Download as usual, and DDMM installs it automatically the moment it lands in your Downloads folder. It also remembers which AyakaMods mod it came from.
  • Update checks for AyakaMods mods. Click "Check for Updates" and mods with a newer version on AyakaMods get a badge, plus a one-click "Update from AyakaMods" that keeps your settings.
  • Finds Helldivers 2 for you through Steam — no setup on first launch.
  • Handles messy archives. Finds the mod files even when they're nested in folders, and turns variant folders (e.g. Red / Blue) into options you can pick from.
  • Profiles, per-mod options, one-click Deploy and Purge.
  • Safe by design. Every archive is checked before extraction, so a malicious mod can't write files outside its own folder.

Which file do I download?​

  • Windows, normal install: DDMM-2.0.0-rc.3-windows-x64-setup.exe (no admin rights needed)
  • Windows, no install: DDMM-2.0.0-rc.3-windows-x64-portable.zip (unzip anywhere and run ddmm.exe)
  • Linux: the AppImage, .deb, or .tar.gz from the GitHub release page

Quick start​

  1. Download and run DDMM. It finds your Helldivers 2 install automatically.
  2. Add mods: drag in an archive or folder, or click "Add URL" and paste an AyakaMods link.
  3. Click Deploy, then launch the game.

Windows SmartScreen: DDMM isn't code-signed yet, so Windows may show "Windows protected your PC". Click More info → Run anyway. This is expected for new open-source apps. SHA256 checksums are on the GitHub release page if you want to verify your download.

Note​

This is a release candidate: feature-complete and tested, but still early. Please report anything odd so we can fix it before 2.0.

This, I have over 80+ mods from arsenal that im too lazy to move over from until an import option is added or devs break all mods again which I can then start fresh from :p

I'm already working on it.

I want people to be able to import massive mod lists with minimal effort. It's taking a bit of coding but I hope to have it published soon.

RC7 is live and fixes a bunch of reported bugs.

Hi Crystal, thanks for posting this here. It's more than a lot of devs would do.


Some of it is fair. Arsenal can't ban anyone from their own PC, the Discord rule is about the Discord, and KoabraFang's announcement went further than anything you've said.


But this doesn't explain why people got worried. The screenshot from your Discord that K^5 posted earlier in this thread, and Pickysaurus from Nexus saying they're looking into a system like this and have been talking with you, both came before this announcement. "It's made up" doesn't cover those. If the plan changed, just say so. People would respect that.


There are also open questions about the Lua feature as you describe it:


  • Only mods installed through the Nexus integration get reported to your server, so the shared signal in your browser extension only covers Nexus mods. Mods from every other site show up with no data. Whatever the intent, Nexus ends up as the trusted source and everyone else as unknown.
  • "Completely anonymously" still means a request to your server, which includes the user's IP. Is it on by default, can users opt out, and is that documented anywhere besides Discord?
  • A central database of flagged mods, plus a working relationship with Nexus, is the setup people were worried about. You may never use it that way, but only you decide that, and users can't check.

None of this is personal. You built something a lot of people rely on, and that's worth credit. It's also why some of us think the community shouldn't depend on one closed tool whose direction is up to one person.


So, for the record: DDMM will keep being developed as a free, open-source (Apache-2.0) mod manager for Helldivers 2. It works with mods from any site, needs no account, and only checks for updates when you ask it to. That doesn't depend on anything you post or change. If Arsenal stays open to everyone, great, more options are good for the community. We're just making sure there's one that stays that way no matter what.

Fair enough, and nobody has to remove anything. Use whatever works for you. Arsenal's a solid tool.


DDMM isn't built on the idea that anyone is spying on you. It's built on the idea that you shouldn't have to take anyone's word for it, including mine. It's open source, works with any site, needs no account, and only goes online when you click the button. If that matters to you, great.


If not, that's fine too.

I can't close DDMM or find it in task manager. But other than that it works allmost perfectly. Rarely i try to download a mod and get a error message like it has a comma or something but for the most part its great! Still haven't had mods conflict with eachother and crash the game.
