Field Repair
Turn your B-1 Supply Pack into a repair kit for vehicles.

Wear a B-1 Supply Pack, stand next to an FRV, exosuit or tank and hold H. One pack charge repairs it.

What one charge does
  • Health: +25% of max health.
  • Ammo: +25% of max for every weapon on the vehicle: spare magazines or belts first, then the loaded one. The Supply FRV's supply boxes are not refilled.
  • Damaged parts: every damaged or destroyed part is restored to full: exosuit legs and plating, tank plating, FRV body parts. Fires started by broken parts are put out.
  • FRV tires: burst tires are put back. They look inflated, drive normally and can be shot out again. Works on the M-102 FRV, M-103 Supply FRV and M-104 Incinerator FRV.
  • Exosuits: a destroyed arm comes back and fires again, a damaged arm gets +25% health, and a suit slowed by a broken leg walks at full speed again. On the EXO-55 Breakthrough the shield arm and its plate are restored, and the heavy shotgun gets shells.
  • Tanks (Bastion, Maelstrom): health, plating and ammo, including the Maelstrom's rocket pods and smoke launcher.
Three versions
Pick one zip and enable only one of them:
  • Field-Repair-1.1.zip: 25% health and ammo per charge, parts and arms restored.
  • Field-Repair-Tiered-1.1.zip: FRV 25%, exosuit 20%, tank 15% of health and ammo; parts and arms restored.
  • Field-Repair-AmmoOnly-1.1.zip: 25% ammo only; nothing is repaired.

A prompt appears when you are in reach (4 m of an FRV or exosuit, 6 m of a tank). Your pack loses one canister per repair, like a normal resupply.

Solo and multiplayer
Tested in multiplayer, as host and as a joining player. Health and parts can be repaired on any vehicle, including a teammate's and one with a driver inside. Ammo is different: in multiplayer the game gives each gun to whoever used it last, and only that player can resupply it. If the gun is not yours, the prompt turns amber and says so before you spend a charge. To make it yours, use it once: man the gun (FRV, tank), take the driver's seat (Maelstrom smoke launcher) or climb in (exosuit). The prompt names the seat.

Known issues
  • Exosuit legs: after a leg has been broken and repaired, the suit moves at full speed but keeps the limping walk animation.
  • Exosuit arms: a repaired arm works and fires, but it can no longer be hit, so it cannot be destroyed a second time.
  • Fires are put out for parts that broke while this mod was running. A vehicle that was already burning when you loaded in keeps its flames.

Requirements
  • Bingus Shared Loader v15 or newer (this mod is an addon for it).
  • Game build Steam 25480438 (game version 1.8.46015.0). On any other build the mod switches itself off and says so in its log.

Install
  1. Install and enable Bingus Shared Loader (v15 or newer).
  2. Import ONE of the three zips in your mod manager (HD2 Mod Manager or Arsenal) and enable it.
  3. Deploy, then start the game.
To uninstall, disable it and deploy again. No base game files are modified.

Log
The mod writes one line per repair to %LOCALAPPDATA%\Hd2FieldRepair\FieldRepair.log. Include it when you report a problem.

Credits

  • CowboyBingus, for Bingus Shared Loader.

Hey Medic, planning on making a performance pass on the mod? It consistently gets 100 to 200 m/s on my lag watchdog list and I was wondering if you have the same issues

Could use a little more optimization tweaks, sometimes it spikes in watchdog numbers by large numbers.

Cool mod!
Works great.
Could it be possible to have it use Mod Bindings Menu so we can chose our own key?
Having to reach the H key on the keyboard when playing with a controller isn't the best.

cuz I'm a ESDF keyboard bind user, my H key is binded to climbing, could u make a rebindable key with Bingus menu so that the mod suit more players with different binding needs?
I requested this cuz I noticed if ur H key is already binded, the prompt wont show up. Haven't tested if I left H unbind and reinject the mod. But once the game notice u can't call H for prompt, it will never work even if u bind climbing to other keys and leave H vacant on fly.
I assume that "bind H to fixing" happens before the game sets keybinds to every vanilla action, so ur mod binding will always be overwrite...prob

The repairs revert after a different player interacts with it. Also, it seems it takes an additional initial supply to make the vehicle repairable before your supplies start actually repairing and resupplying the vehicle

Repairs reverting can only happen to ammo, you need to fire a shot after repairing in order to let it sync. As for additional initial supply, what vehicle was this?

(not mine) Exosuit Lumberer after it got damaged (I forgot to fire off a shot after hoping in so it reverted to broken when he went back in afterwards). Both that Exosuit and the Maelstrom Tank I called down earlier that game, the first supply I used on them had no effect. I was not hosting.
