Booster Buster 1.0

A Mod for Helldivers 2
Booster Buster akl_mod_preview_image
A trio (or sometimes a quartet or quintet) of boosters is almost always selected for every mission. Consequently, other theoretically interesting boosters go unused.
Some argue that these boosters should be ship modules—and I agree. However, since game modding hasn't yet reached the point where new content can be added, here is the next best thing:

Two boosters are always active, as if provided by the DSS. The defaults are Hellpod Space Optimization and Vitality Enhancement.

Unfortunately, there are only two available slots. Still, that is enough to offer a choice within a full four-player squad.

The boosters you select do not apply to the entire team; I didn't spend much time testing this, as the mod was created using AI for private use among friends.

Requires Bingus Shared Loader v18, last in the load order.

Awesome, thanks. Makes a lot more boosters pickable.

I'm also curious about how it works with stacking.

the HSO variant doesnt seem to properly fill grenades and stimms, ammo comes in at max, but not those.

does it stack tho? e.g. Sample Scanner gives you 15% chance to double pick up sample and if i use two does it adds up to 30%?

No, boosters do not stack.
The game asks "which boosters are active for this mission," and all this mod does is say, "yeah, these two are coming from DSS". If Booster Buster works, you should not be able to choose those boosters in the loadout. If you choose the same booster in the mod, then... I don't know, but they definitely do not stack.

It works fine on my end, both solo and multiplayer. And since it's a vanilla booster, not a modded copy with the same effect, this is very weird behavior. I'll need some logs if you want me to look into it.

Yes, I actually noticed this in game when it didn't let me take the booster. I think party members also cannot take the booster by extension of this fact. Interesting; this makes the mod diegetic in a way.

Thanks again.

I noticed you mentioned, “The boosters you select do not apply to the entire team.” Does that mean the boosters you choose only affect you?

I haven't run extensive tests beyond simply verifying that it just works.
The mod functions by injecting boosters into the DSS slots. The specific boosters the DSS provides to a player are determined by the client rather than the host; normally, everyone in the lobby receives the same response from the DSS, which is usually the HSO booster.
However, if the mod is configured to provide different boosters than those chosen by other players in the lobby, then yes, a unique set of boosters should apply to you.
