Clear Visibility 1.0.10

A Mod for Helldivers 2
Clear Visibility akl_mod_preview_image

No fog • No distance haze • No rain and snow • Brighter nights • Clear map • No Spore Spewer fog

Clear Visibility clears the air on every planet. The fog is gone, mountains and bases on the horizon stay sharp, rain and snow stop falling around you, and bug spores no longer cover your map, so you can read the battlefield and spot what is coming from much further away.

Each part is its own option in HD2 Arsenal, so you keep only what you want.

Gas stays visible: No fog removes the fog but keeps gas from gas mines, gas grenades and gas strikes on screen, so you always see where it is dangerous to walk.

CV section Features.png

  • No fog. Turns the fog off on every planet, including ground mist and the mist that settles in valleys. Gas, smoke and the fog around Spore Spewers still show.[/*]
  • No distance haze. Removes the haze that hides far away terrain, so ridges, outposts and enemy structures stay crisp all the way to the horizon. The sky, the sun and the clouds keep their look.[/*]
  • No rain and snow. Stops rain and snow falling around you and hides the storms on the horizon.[/*]
  • Brighter nights. Removing fog makes the dark darker, so this option lets the camera brighten dark scenes much further. Nights, dusk and dark places are no longer pitch black, and bright daylight stays the same.[/*]
  • Clear map. Removes the bug spore clouds that cover the map and the minimap on missions with Atmospheric Spores, so terrain, objectives and markers stay readable. The mission map on the war table is clear too.[/*]
  • No Spore Spewer fog. Removes the thick spore fog around Spore Spewers, so you can see the spewer and the bugs around it. Gas still shows. Leave it unticked if you want the spewers to keep their fog.[/*]
  • No graphics preset needed. Every option works at any Volumetric Fog quality, from Low to Ultra.[/*]
  • Your ship keeps its look. The Super Destroyer keeps its own lighting and atmosphere.[/*]
  • Works next to Objective Tracker and other mods that don't change fog, weather or the map.[/*]

CV section Installation.png

  1. Remove any other fog or weather mod.[/*]
  2. Download the main file and import the ZIP into HD2 Arsenal.[/*]
  3. Enable Clear Visibility and tick the options you want: No fog, No distance haze, No rain and snow, Brighter nights, Clear map and No Spore Spewer fog.[/*]
  4. Deploy and play.[/*]

CV section After a game update.png

Clear Visibility changes some of the game's own graphics files. If a Helldivers 2 update changes them, the mod can stop working or look wrong until I update it. If the game won't start or looks wrong after a patch, untick No fog, No distance haze, Clear map and No Spore Spewer fog and deploy again.

CV section Known limits.png

Rainstorms, blizzards and sandstorms are switched off by the same settings as snow, but not every weather has been seen in a mission yet. If one still shows up, let me know the planet and the weather. If nights look too bright or still too dark with Brighter nights, tell me the planet.

CV section Reporting a problem.png

Tell me the mod version, the planet, the weather and which options you had ticked. A screenshot looking toward the horizon helps a lot.

As with any mod, use it at your own risk.

If I untick No Fog, what even will get removed from my view? Since I actively use Gas stuff I will need No Fog turned off unfortunately.

Thanks for your work!
Could you make a version where the night isn't too bright?
it only needs to be slightly brighter than the vanilla game.

This is everything on Ultra + Highest settings possible, 2K, Borderless Window, Render Scale Ultra Quality, Anti-Aliasing TAA, Dynamic Resolution Scaling Off, Variable Rate Shading Off, NVIDIA Reflex Low Latency On, Frame Limit Off. FPS goes from 120-250 Depending on what's going on.
With the same map but the mod off I don't notice any difference in FPS. Besides being unable to see anything due to the Spores.
A mods that removes fog & lets you see at night?!? yeah im sold

I have been working on a gas fix for 2 days now; just wait a bit longer.

At 1.0.4, the distant haze or whatever the fog on the horizon is called seems to be visible still. Overall looks foggier than 1.0.3.
BTW : I'm also using the oldest Volumetric Fog Reducer (the one that is abandoned on nexus, not the newer one), when I disabled it along testing with 1.0.4, there are floor fogs thingy visible. Dunno why is that, might test more and get some pic later (I've been turning things on and off for hours I'm taking a break)
Also want to ask, if trying to bring gas back making it any foggier than usual, could it be possible to have a seperate file or option that completely turns off like 1.0.3? After year with old fog mod I've gotten quite used to no gas clouds.

Thank you for the bug report.
Can you provide the screenshot, please?
