Non host crash fix
Fixed a bug where non host players crashed on a bot drop being called in multiplayer.
Still working on reducing performance impact of the all bots can call drop ability, and placing a more flexible factory strider pop cap than the current fixed 15 to reduce overhead.
Choose your encounters. Open the Automaton themed panel with F9 to adjust weights with sliders or precise number entry. Patrols, bot drops, guards, and outposts have independent mixes that you can switch between custom and native settings. The Master tab controls reinforcement tuning, patrol settings, drop cost, and Factory Strider behavior. Save changes on the ship; changes saved during a mission take effect when you return.
Unit and spawn limits
Fully quit the game before replacing an older build. This release requires Bingus Shared Loader v15+ / API 1. If you encounter a bug, please share your settings, mission difficulty, what happened just before the issue, and the PickYourBots_STATUS.txt and PickYourBots_log.txt files from the loader’s Logs directory.

Pick Your Bots — Public Test (Please read the whole page, this is a complex mod)
Pick Your Bots lets you customize Automaton encounters in Helldivers 2 with separate weighted unit mixes for patrols, bot drops, guards, and outposts. It also offers reinforcement budget and cooldown controls, extra patrol troopers, Factory Strider production options, and a setting that lets eligible ground bots call reinforcements even when you’re in a vehicle. The roster has limits: weights influence eligible native spawn requests, so they cannot force a unit into every mission, faction, or difficulty. Some units are deliberately absent from the menu because their availability is restricted, their spawn behavior has caused crashes, or the mod cannot safely replace them without disrupting their role.Choose your encounters. Quick Start
- Fully close the game, disable any older Pick Your Bots build, and install this one. Keep other spawn multiplier and spawn changer mods disabled.
- Open the settings panel with F9. Use the Master tab for spawn and reinforcement controls. Use the Patrols, Bot Drops, Guards, and Outposts tabs to choose unit weights.
- Switch a weight tab to Custom to use your mix. Check its visible Custom/Native state before changing weights. Drag a slider, click its value to type a number, or use the +/− buttons to fine tune it.
- Click Save This Tab for each tab you change. Save on the ship before starting a mission. If you save during a mission, the new settings apply after you return to the ship.
- Press F9 to close the panel. If performance drops, lower the spawn and patrol multipliers or reduce heavy unit weights.
Unit and spawn limits
- Theres an observed but not definite active bot limit at around 100-110, so moving every slider to max will not spawn 500 enemies, its a hard coded limit at least for bots, so use moderate multipliers like 1.2 or 1.3x except for reinforcement and drop budget.
- Original troopers remain in guard and outpost spawns because some operate mounted machine guns. The mod cannot yet distinguish MG crew from other troopers before they spawn, so those troopers cannot be individually replaced through the guard or outpost weights.
- Scout and Rocket Striders are not selectable. Scout Striders have limited difficulty availability, and increased Rocket Strider drops caused crashes during testing.
- Factory Striders retain their native drop cost. Their population control pauses new scheduling at 15 living Striders and resumes at 14; ships or patrols already queued may briefly take the total above 15. A patrol template can draw up to two Factory Striders.
- Factory Strider production uses the game’s native timing and quantity. The output selector is experimental; its Hulk choices have not been confirmed safe across every bot subfaction. Gunships and other oversized or unstable production choices are excluded.
- Units absent from a mission’s eligible spawn sources may not appear even with a high weight. A weight sets a selection preference, not a guaranteed number of units per ship or patrol.
