Bingus Shared Loader v20

A Mod for Helldivers 2
Bingus Shared Loader akl_mod_preview_image
This mod is mandatory if you plan to use any of my mods.

Always place this mod last in the load order.

Starts any of my installed mods as well as the below supported third-party mods together. The loader has no gameplay effect by itself.

Supported mods created by me:
  • Better Stratagem Bounce
  • Hellpod Steering Unlocked
  • Reinforcement Beacons Fixed
  • Shallow Water Diving
  • Consistent Vaulting
  • Sentry Aim Retention
  • Controllable Hover Pack
  • Know Your Constellation
  • Enemy Collision Synchronized
  • Armory Preview Cache
  • Wide Angle Stratagems (Unreleased)
Supported mods created by third-party authors:
  • HUD Ballistic Trajectory Overlay
  • HUD Plus
  • Gore OFF (Requires patch from Nexus)
Each gameplay package owns its own Lua resource and is optional. A missing or failed mod does not prevent later modules from loading.

AI disclosure: GPT-6 Astra was used for this project's research, implementation, debugging, and documentation.

Third-party mods may report conflicts with the shared loader. This is normal and expected.
While all of my mods will always remain free and open source, you can help support my work and stay up to date on development over on Patreon:

I don't know if a mod like this already exists, but it would be great to have a mod that lets us carry objective items—like the larva, the egg, the automaton's head, the disc, and others—inside vehicles and exosuits.

Technically already possible at least with FRV. Have to get inside the passenger seat then jump over to the driver seat.

Hi CowboyBingus,

Thank you for your work on BingusSharedLoader. It has been very helpful to the community.

I would like to ask your technical opinion regarding an issue with disk read operations in the current game version.

Background & Problem:
After the game size was reduced from ~150GB to ~20GB+, the asset streaming behavior changed:

  • Previous versions: The game read a few GB into memory during loading, and disk read activity stopped afterward.
  • Current version: The game constantly reads from the drive at 30–200 MB/s during gameplay, generating over 100 GB of read data per hour regardless of texture settings.
  • This high I/O workload causes micro-stutters during combat. (Many players do not monitor drive activity and simply attribute this to general game lag).
Testing & Verification:

  • System: Windows 10 22H2 with 32 GB RAM (rules out pagefile / virtual memory swapping).
  • Verification: Monitored using AppReadWriteCounter and CrystalDiskInfo, confirming that these are real physical host reads on the SSD, not virtual reads from system memory cache.
  • PrimoCache test: I allocated a large amount of physical RAM as an L1 read cache for the SSD, but the physical drive still experienced constant high read throughput. This suggests the game may be bypassing OS cache layers or using unbuffered direct reads.
Reference Case:
A very similar issue existed in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora (constant 100 MB/s unbuffered disk streaming causing stutters and eventually crashing the game).
A modder fixed it using a proxy DLL named "Disk Cache Enabler". The mod intercepts Windows file API calls (such as CreateFileW) and removes the FILE_FLAG_NO_BUFFERING flag. This allows Windows to use system RAM as a file cache, which drops subsequent disk reads to nearly zero.

Question:
Based on your experience with Helldivers 2 and injection loaders:

  1. Do you think a similar hook approach (forcing OS-level file caching or adjusting asset streaming) is technically feasible in Helldivers 2?
  2. Would such an I/O hook conflict with GameGuard?
If this is possible and you find it interesting, do you have any interest in exploring this type of optimization mod?

Thank you for your time.

Anddddd Claude has already figured out a way to bypass EAC. World record, too... EAC has lasted for a whopping 30 minutes. Wait until the technology is available to the modders, people. We'll get these back in no time.

Unfortunately, all Chinese and on Cheat Engine forums and gatekept to all hell... I have to give them credit, they're the pioneers for breaking Anti-cheats... Bingus-sama has made a notice on Nexus for now:

Important notice regarding the announcement of Easy Anti-Cheat:

I am well aware and have been taking preliminary measures over the past few weeks to ensure the Megapack and Loader both remain functional through this transition.

I ask for your patience as it will take me time to decipher what the next steps are going forward, and what that means for the Loader and Megapack.
