LAS-98: Laser Cannon - Gradual AP Gain

As stated in the short description of the mod, the more you hold down the trigger, the more AP and damage you gain. Here's how it works:

Hold Button for:

0Secs = 350/AP4 ➔ 2Secs = 450/AP5 ➔ 7Secs = 550/AP6 ➔ 8Secs = 805/AP7/40D ➔ 9Secs = 550/AP6 [...]

Durability Increase:

0Secs = 195Durable ➔ 2Secs = 250Durable ➔ 7Secs = 290Durable ➔ 8Secs = 400Durable ➔ 9Secs = 290Durable [...]

The goal with this change? It's just to make the laser cannon funnier and slightly more comfy to use. Because if you have this mod on, you'll still just be doing Laser Cannon shenanigans, except now you can destroy fabricators: hold the trigger down against a fabricator for 8-9 seconds, and it will blow up because of that sweetspot mechanic between the 8th and the 9th seconds.

I do believe this doesn't pick a fight with the Quasar cannon because if you immediately start a new firing sequence after you lose your sweetspot, you'll run out of ICE in a non-ice planet, meaning you're now stuck with a 3.65 second wait on top of having to wait another 9 seconds for the sweetspot... at which point you could've fired two quasar shots. Yeah I think that makes sense in my mind.

I feel like this mod is very much comparable to when Arrowhead updated the senator to be heavy pen, and like all that that really did was make it so people went out to try and find out how many shots it took to kill a bile titan and everyone figured out collectively that you might as well throw sharpies at it and hope one of them lands a crit or something. Good times btw.

Loving this mod so far! although plenty of times I would stop fire due to fights or ragdolls. And felt a bit clunky and frustrating when im trying to destroy something through ap, got interrupted and now I gotta fully cool it down first before firing again to avail the higher ap values. Otherwise, all good!

Man would love to have an optional dropdown for tying ap to heatsink values. Makes more sense to me headwise and more forgiving, much like the de sickle, although that one burned you..

It does not rise with the heatsink, no, you gotta hold down the trigger continuously. In that sense the Laser Cannon becomes a long-ranged Defoliator
That's fair, really forces you to commit beaming something out of existence. Against zombies or bug, I would bring a Hover pack to get to high ground to adapt to the swarms. It's a good mod, I wish to see the silly little green guy more often to your future mod! Really sells the effort on what you make.
