Medic Mod Manager - All Your Mods - Settings-File Mods Merged 1.1.0

A Mod for Helldivers 2
Medic Mod Manager - All Your Mods - Settings-File Mods Merged akl_mod_preview_image
One app for all your Helldivers 2 mods - normal mods and settings-file mods, merged. Works after the EAC update.

Medic Mod Manager is the new name of Medic File Mod Merger. It used to handle only the settings-file mods (vaulting, water, movement, stratagems...). Now it's a full mod manager: models, textures, audio, Lua addons and loaders too, all in one list.

Already using HD2 Mod Manager or HD2 Arsenal? One click imports your mods with their ticks, options and order - nothing to download or set up again.

How to use
  1. Quit the game. Start Medic-Mod-Manager.exe (no install needed). It finds your game folder by itself.
  2. Coming from another manager: top bar > Import from another manager... > HD2 Mod Manager or Arsenal. Then purge in the old manager so both don't put the same mods in the game.
  3. Or drag mod zips / mod folders onto the window.
  4. Press APPLY CHANGES. Start the game.

What it does
  • Every kind of mod in one list, sorted by type (Lua, models, textures, audio, physics...) and by area (weapons, vehicles, enemies, armor, stratagems...), with a search box, and each mod's icon and description. Options and sub-options from the mod work as usual.
  • Mod storage on another drive if your game drive is full.
  • Settings-file mods are merged: several mods that change the same game file all work at once. No loader, no launch-and-quit.
  • Order decides conflicts: the mod higher in the list wins, and every overlap is listed so you know what's going on.
  • Lua loaders handled for you: the loader (Chef Shared Loader recommended) is always placed so it runs. You get a warning for addons without a loader, two loaders, or other boot-script mods that would clash.
  • No clash between settings-file mods and Chef: those files are written directly, not through a boot script.
  • Purge from game puts the stock files back but keeps your list. APPLY brings everything back.
  • Safe next to another manager: it only touches files it wrote itself and never overwrites anyone else's.

Settings-file mods it can read
  • Mods built on the HD2 file-mod installer: Stratagem Balls Stay Put, Consistent Vaulting, Shallow Water Diving, Medic Divers, Jump Pack Recharge, Slidedivers / HELLSLIDERS, RoComp packages...
  • Alice's Enhanced Stratagem Collection, Maxigun Return, packs with several files and toggles (toggles become a drop-down), and mods that ship plain generated_*.dl_bin files.
Mods that make a table bigger (like Jump Pack Recharge) are combined with the rest too; only two of those for the same file can't be mixed (the higher one wins). Not merged, by design: programs that edit the game files themselves (SHODAN...) go after this app.

After a game update
Settings-file mods stop working until they're updated (nothing breaks - the game is just stock). Mods made for the old version show NEEDS NEW VERSION. Add the updated versions and press Apply.

Medic File Mod Merger (old version)
The merger is still in the download (Medic-File-Mod-Merger-1.0.1.zip) for anyone who only wants the merging part. It stays available as it is, but it won't get updates after game patches and isn't supported anymore. Updates and fixes go into Medic Mod Manager only. Switching is easy: start the manager, your merger list carries over.

Safety
  • Never writes over a game file it can't identify, never deploys while the game runs, never removes a file it didn't write.
  • Everything it keeps is in <game folder>\MedicFileModMerger. Steam > Verify integrity of game files always gets you back to stock.
  • Windows may say "Windows protected your PC" the first time - the exe isn't code-signed. More info > Run anyway.
  • Tested in game with Chef Shared Loader and 15 mods from different authors at once.

Bug reports
Please include <game folder>\MedicFileModMerger\log.txt.

Credits
  • Chef, for testing it with his loader and mods.
  • The authors of the mods whose formats it reads (it doesn't include any of their files).
  • Item and area names: HD2SDK Community Edition hashlists (Estecsky).
  • Built in Rust with egui; third-party licences are in the download.
  • Me... Duh.

So I'd like to use Vaulting, Balls stay put, and shallow water diving. I merged them into a zip to use with Arsenal. When I install it with Arsenal, it conflicts with Boot Mod Loader. Any idea how to fix it so they play nicely together?
You merge them and deploy/install them in the merger itself. You dont have to install it with arsenal.

Feel like when merging many mods with hellslider, the vaulting seem to be impossible and player slide on every single rocks. (´・ω・`)

Well regarding that, the vaulting mod rn is kinda buggy with certain terrain and might get worse with the hellslider, I'll add an update soon regarding that.

If you're talking about the qol file mods, you put them in the merger, install them and launch. Dont need to esc quit or rejoin. If you're using a mod manager like hd2 or arsenal and you deploy using those, you would have to do the esc quit and restart.

  • A mod that changes a file's length (Jump Pack Recharge) can't be mixed with other mods that change the same file. It is installed as it is, and the app tells you which mod was left out.

Is there a particular reason the functionality to merge mods with different file lengths was left out? It doesn't seem like a technical limitation but an intentional choice

Yeah that was intentional, the merger does merges by offset, different file lengths mean either data has been added or removed and merging these two based on offsets wouldnt be possible or atleast wouldnt be safe, will need to have a comparision between stock and a given mod and then note the offsets of each mod and then decide on a merge. Its like matrix addition, you cant add matrices of different dimensions, only same dimensions can be added.

Does the new version mean I can use lua mods now ?
