Shows where the camera is looking on the Crimson Desert minimap, as a soft cone of light. The player arrow
still shows where your character is facing.
The cone is shown while the minimap's north lock is on. With north lock off the map already turns with the
camera, so the cone is hidden; it comes back when you turn north lock on again.
Requirements
------------
- Crimson Desert v2.04 (made with game exe 1.0.0.3549; see "After a game update").
- Definitive Mod Manager (DMM), with its ASI loader installed (DMM's ASI Mods page shows whether it is).
Install
-------
1. Add MinimapCameraCone.zip to DMM. It installs as two parts:
- "MinimapCameraCone" on the Mods page: the cone's image and style.
- "MinimapCameraCone.asi" on the ASI Mods page: the plugin that turns the cone with the camera.
2. Enable both and mount. The plugin is added switched off, so remember to enable it on the ASI Mods page.
Both parts are needed: the plugin without the game files shows nothing, and the game files without the
plugin add nothing to the minimap.
Uninstall
---------
Disable or remove both parts in DMM and mount.
After a game update
-------------------
The plugin looks up the game code it needs each time the game starts, so updates that only move code
around keep working. If an update changed that code itself, the plugin stays inactive (no cone, nothing
else affected) until an updated version is released. MinimapCameraCone.log, next to the plugin in the
game's bin64 folder, says what it found.
Compatibility
-------------
- Changes ui/xml/gamemain/template/minimapicon.css, ui/texture/cd_common_01.dds and
ui/xml/texture/cd_common_01.xml. Other mods that replace these files conflict with it.
- Uses the game's unused "Pin" minimap icon template for the cone.
- Works alongside other plugins that hook the same game functions, in either
load order.
- The cone follows the normal third-person camera. In other camera views (cutscenes, some special
views) it can stay at its last direction until normal play resumes.
