MISSION DEBRIEF 1.0
After-action report for your whole squad
"A Helldiver who knows what he killed kills more of it." — Ministry of Truth, Field Efficiency Directive (probably)

The game's results screen tells you how many you killed. Mission Debrief tells you the rest: what you killed, with what, who carried the squad, who died to what (and to whom), which objectives got done and who made it onto the Pelican. Everything appears right on the game's own results screen, in the game's own font and colours, for every player in the squad, and comes back on your ship whenever you want it.
Mod status: 1.0 is the complete version and the mod is now in support mode: bug fixes and updates for new game versions continue, new features are on hold. See the pinned post for details.
Also on Nexus Mods: Mission Debrief - After-Action Report.
TWO WAYS TO READ IT
LIST VIEW (default): the pages are written into each player's card on the results screen. The game draws them itself, so they look like they always belonged there. Small bars before the rows show each number at a glance.
CHART VIEW: one chart for the whole squad on every page, laid over the cards. Who did how much, in each player's colour.
Switch at any time with Triangle (controller) or C (keyboard, also F10). The button for it sits next to the game's own MINIMIZE STATS prompt. Option View: Chart makes every debrief open as the chart.
SEVEN PAGES
  • SUMMARY: the game's own rows plus Kills per Minute, Heavy Kills, Kill Streak, Best Life (most kills between two deaths), Most Killed, Top Weapon, Stratagem Share, Damage Dealt, Damage Taken and Self-Inflicted Deaths. Chart: every row one bar split between the players.
  • ENEMIES: every enemy type killed, grouped Heavy / Medium / Chaff, with its share of your kills. Chart: a mosaic of everything the squad killed, a tile per enemy type with who killed how many.
  • WEAPONS: the game's own kills per weapon, throwable, stratagem, drone, vehicle and Exosuit, with a total per group. Kills the game credits to no weapon (Hellpod landings, telefrags, the environment) are OTHER, so the page adds up to your KILLS. Chart: the squad's deadliest weapons, each in its owner's colour.
  • BREAKDOWN: which enemies each weapon killed, with the weapon's accuracy. Chart: a weapon x enemy grid, each cell in the colour of the player who made most of those kills.
  • CASUALTIES: who or what killed you and how many times: an enemy, a teammate (by name) or yourself, with what (your own grenade, gun, mine or stratagem). Deaths the game gives no cause for (a fall, drowning) are Unknown Cause. Chart: every death a square, coloured by its cause.
  • TIMELINE (new): kills over the mission. Chart: a lane per player with kills each minute and a red line where they died, plus the squad's lane with its busiest minute.
  • OBJECTIVES (new): the mission's primary and optional objectives, done or not (the game's own state, under the game's own names), Helldivers extracted (N of M) and each player's own extraction, objective targets and enemy structures destroyed by each player, terminals completed. Chart: extraction tiles, objective segments and the targets split by player.
Yellow means what it means in the game: the best of the squad in that row, on every page (fewest for deaths and damage taken). Group rows are blue.

AWARDS, BESTS, LANGUAGES
Awards. Every Helldiver can earn one award per mission, the one they lead the squad in by the widest margin: Exterminator / Scrap Maker / Squid Hunter, Heavy Hitter, Mech Pilot, Sentry Master, Eagle Ace, Orbital Caller, Sharpshooter, Stratagem Maestro, Brawler, Sample Hunter, Marathon, Meat Shield, Stim Addict, Lifeline, Untouchable... and Friendly Fire Champion or Clumsy Patriot for the ones who earned those. Awards come only from the statistics the game shares with every player, so everyone with the mod sees the same awards. The award is the first SUMMARY row, drawn as a badge in the game's hazard stripes.
Personal bests. Beat your own record in kills, kills per minute, heavy kills, kill streak, best life, melee kills, damage or accuracy and the row shows a small red NEW BEST.
Your language. English and the game's 13 other languages (German, French, Spanish, Latin American Spanish, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Japanese, Korean, Simplified and Traditional Chinese), picked from your Steam language. Enemy, weapon, structure and objective names are the game's own words in each language. To force a language, put its code (for example de) in language.txt in the mod's data folder.
Settle it at the debrief. A teammate's Orbital Barrage on your head is listed under their name, so your friend can't blame it on the bugs anymore.
CONTROLS
Results screen (Square / Tab shows the stats as usual):
  • Turn the page: L1 / R1 or Q / E
  • Scroll: D-pad / sticks or W / S, mouse wheel
  • List / chart view: Triangle or C (also F10)
On the ship: L1 + R1 together or F9 brings the last debrief back, any time until your next mission. Same buttons for pages, scrolling and the view; Circle, L1 + R1 or F9 closes it.
Your own buttons: Options > Controls > MODS > Mission Debrief (with Mod Bindings Menu). DualSense / DualSense Edge (USB or Bluetooth) and Xbox-compatible controllers work out of the box; the controller is only read, never written to.

SETTINGS
With Mod Options Menu: ESC > MODS > Mission Debrief. Turn any page, group or row on or off, pick the view the debrief opens in, show the game's own results screen untouched, or turn off All Cards Together to give each card its own page and scroll (L2 / R2 or A / D pick the card).
HOST AND GUEST
  • The same numbers on every screen: the game's rows, the kills per weapon, the awards and the objectives come from the game's own state, which every player's game shares.
  • Which enemy each kill was (ENEMIES, BREAKDOWN) and what killed you come from what your own game saw. Their totals always match the game's; on a guest's screen more kills can be listed as OTHERS.
  • Only your screen changes, and the mod sends nothing over the network. Your squadmates don't need it.
GOOD TO KNOW
  • Safe: runs only on the game build it was made for (Steam 25480438) and checks every game location it uses first. After a game update it switches itself off until it is updated. No gameplay, network or save changes.
  • Light: a few hundredths of a millisecond per frame.
  • Every mission is saved as text and JSON in %LOCALAPPDATA%\CowboyBingus\Helldivers2\MissionDebrief\reports.
  • The mod never guesses: enemy types, weapons and causes it cannot identify are OTHERS / OTHER / Unknown Cause. In very fast multi-kills with several weapons a kill can land on the wrong enemy type. Lasers have no hit stats in the game, so they show no accuracy.
  • Some objectives (mostly Illuminate ones) have no name in the data available to the mod yet; they show as a plain objective.
REQUIREMENTS & INSTALL
  1. Bingus Shared Loader v18 or newer, kept last in the load order.
  2. Recommended: Mod Options Menu (settings). Optional: Mod Bindings Menu (own buttons).
  3. Import the ZIP in HD2 Arsenal or HD2 Mod Manager, enable, Purge, then Deploy.
BUGS
Please report bugs in the Bugs tab and attach MissionDebrief.log and last_mission.txt from %LOCALAPPDATA%\CowboyBingus\Helldivers2\MissionDebrief. They help a lot.

CREDITS
  • CowboyBingus: Bingus Shared Loader and Runtime, Mod Bindings Menu, Mod Options Menu (and its method for text in the game's widgets).
  • SkyeShade: HD2Runtime, research on the game structures, enemy-type and weapon identification.
  • HD2 HUD+ (link) and Aggro Counter (link): drawing in the game's UI font.
  • MrChengl11: HD2 Lua Mod Skill. shalzuth: HelldiversData.
  • xypwn: FileDiver (the game's resource names, used to identify enemies and structures).
  • Helldivers Wiki: objective names and kinds.
  • Artwork fonts: Saira Condensed and Chakra Petch (SIL OFL).
CHANGELOG
  • 1.0.0
    • Chart view: one chart for the whole squad on every page (SUMMARY bars split between the players, ENEMIES mosaic, WEAPONS ranking, BREAKDOWN grid, CASUALTIES squares, TIMELINE lanes, OBJECTIVES). Triangle / C (also F10) switch between the list and the chart, on the results screen and on the ship; the button sits next to the game's MINIMIZE STATS. New option View: Chart and binding "Switch Mission Debrief View (List / Chart)".
    • List view bars: small bars before the rows: on SUMMARY against the squad's highest, on ENEMIES and WEAPONS each row's share of your kills.
    • New page OBJECTIVES: primary and optional objectives, done or not, under the game's own names; Helldivers extracted (N of M) and each player's extraction; objective targets and enemy structures destroyed by each player; terminals completed.
    • New page TIMELINE: kills over the mission.
    • Languages: the game's 13 other languages, from your Steam language (or language.txt). Enemy, weapon, structure and objective names in the game's own words.
    • Awards are the same on every screen: only from the statistics the game shares. New: Heavy Hitter, Mech Pilot, Sentry Master, Eagle Ace, Orbital Caller, Brawler, Sample Hunter, Marathon, Meat Shield, Stim Addict. Clumsy Patriot from the game's own counter. Awards by enemy type and Streak Machine removed (each game sees those differently). Helldivers who left are not counted; ties are settled the same way everywhere.
    • The award badge follows the game's own show / minimize stats action, so it works with rebound keys too.
    • SUMMARY rows line up across the cards (a dash row where a player has no award).
    • Own buttons from Mod Bindings Menu replace that action's default buttons completely (no more double page turns), and L1 + R1 can no longer switch itself off.
    • Long names are cut on whole letters in every language.
  • 0.9.0
    • Award badge on the results screen: the award row is drawn as a badge in the game's hazard stripes (option "Award Badge On Results Screen"). On the ship the award is the first SUMMARY row, like on the results screen.
    • Names: your own name from Steam instead of "YOU"; teammates' names are read from their card on the results screen, also for players who are not your Steam friends or play on another platform.
    • A teammate who left before the results screen keeps their pages (no more "NO DATA FOR THIS PLAYER").
    • All Cards Together: scrolling goes on until the longest card ends, not the shortest.
    • Self-Inflicted Deaths follow the CASUALTIES page, and only count what you really did to yourself (your grenade, mine, sentry or stratagem). A death the game puts on your own body while you were just shooting is Unknown Cause.
    • Deaths by enemy emplacements and turrets are named (HMG Emplacement, Cannon Turret...). The Impaler is recognized, its tentacles too.
    • Shares under 1% show one decimal (one Bile Titan in 651 kills is 0.2%, not 0%).
    • Ship debrief: long labels are cut to fit their row.
  • 0.7.0: Kills per Minute, Heavy Kills, Kill Streak, Best Life, Stratagem Share; awards; personal bests (NEW BEST); shares of your kills on ENEMIES and WEAPONS.
  • 0.6.x: the debrief again on the ship (L1 + R1 / F9); self-inflicted deaths by what did it; yellow only for the best of the squad; WEAPONS from the game's own statistics; teammates by name.
  • 0.5.5: the game's own scrollbar on each card; one text size everywhere. 0.5.4: first public release.

MISSION DEBRIEF 1.0: COMPLETE, NOW IN SUPPORT MODE
Hi Helldivers!
Mission Debrief 1.0 is out, and it is the complete version of the mod.
» NEW IN 1.0
  • Chart view: one chart for the whole squad on every page. Switch between the list and the chart with Triangle or C (also F10), on the results screen and on the ship.
  • OBJECTIVES page: primary and optional objectives done or not, Helldivers extracted, targets and enemy structures destroyed by each player, terminals completed.
  • TIMELINE page: kills over the mission; in the chart every death is marked.
  • 13 languages besides English, from your Steam language, with the game's own names for enemies, weapons and objectives.
  • Awards that match on every screen, with ten new ones (Heavy Hitter, Mech Pilot, Eagle Ace, Orbital Caller, Stim Addict...).
  • Small bars in the list view, own key bindings that fully replace the default buttons, and a lot of fixes.
The full list is in the changelog.

» WHAT HAPPENS NOW
The mod got less interest than I expected, so I'm moving on to other projects. Mission Debrief goes into support mode:
  • Bug fixes continue.
  • Updates for new game versions continue. After a game update the mod switches itself off until it is updated, so it never breaks your game.
  • New features are on hold until the community asks for them. If you want one of the features below (or something else), say so in the comments. If enough of you ask, I'll come back to it.
» PLANNED, NOW ON HOLD
  • Operation page: all missions of an operation together: kills, deaths, extractions, the best Helldiver of the whole operation.
  • Career page: all your missions with the mod: favourite weapon, deadliest enemy, all-time records.
  • More rows from the game's stats: total destruction, healing received, mission time and time left.
  • Extraction awards: Last One Aboard, Left Behind, Clean Extraction (no deaths).
  • Bug holes, fabricators and outposts closed by each player, and failed objectives.
  • Names for the remaining objectives (mostly Illuminate).
  • Galactic Campaign integration: your squad's results on the galactic campaign screen.
» REPORTING A BUG
Please post it in the comments and attach these two files:
  • MissionDebrief.log
  • last_mission.txt
Both are in %LOCALAPPDATA%\CowboyBingus\Helldivers2\MissionDebrief\

Thank you for playing with it, for every report and every idea!

I dont know if this is a known fact but the mod isnt counting Impalers, and seems to do not perfectly count enemies who dies by bleeding. I mean, it doesnt grants that kill to the weapon who caused the bleeding. Its easy to notice that when playing AMR vs bugs; you kill like 30 Alphas with AMR headshots and at the end of the mission there is only a couple or less listed under its name. I also think that deaths caused by deaths by fire ignited by some weapons doesnt count as deaths by that weapon, only counts as "others" but Im not entirely sure on this one.

Thanks a lot for this, it's really useful feedback.

**Impalers:** you're right. The enemy list the mod uses to name enemy types doesn't have the Impaler in it, so Impaler kills still count in your total and under the weapon that got them, but on the ENEMIES and BREAKDOWN pages they end up in OTHERS. I'll add the Impaler as soon as I've confirmed its ID in game.

**Bleed-out kills:** the per-weapon kill numbers come straight from the game's own stats, and the mod never moves a kill from one weapon to another. From my logs it looks like when a bug dies a while after it was hit, the game sometimes credits that kill to the bug itself rather than to the weapon that wounded it. The mod can't tell which weapon caused it, so it shows those kills under OTHER instead of guessing. A headshot Alpha Commander bleeding out with the AMR is very likely the same case, but I haven't tested that exact one yet. I'll run an AMR-only bug mission to check it.

**Fire:** from what I've seen, fire from stratagems (Napalm Barrage, Napalm Airstrike) is credited to the stratagem correctly. I haven't tested fire started by weapons (Flamethrower, Breaker Incendiary, incendiary grenades) yet. If the game credits those burn kills to something other than the weapon, they'll show up under OTHER for the same reason. I'll check that too.

I'll post an update once I know more. Thanks again for playing and reporting!

MISSION DEBRIEF 0.9.0: TELL ME WHAT YOU NEED

Hi Helldivers!

With 0.9.0 I've done pretty much everything that was on my own list. Now it's your turn: your feedback decides what comes next.

» WHAT I'D LIKE TO KNOW
  • What do you use? SUMMARY, ENEMIES, WEAPONS, BREAKDOWN, CASUALTIES, awards, personal bests, the debrief on the ship. Which ones do you skip?
  • What gets in the way? Anything confusing, hard to read or annoying.
  • What's missing? Anything you'd like to see after a mission that the mod doesn't show yet.
  • Wrong numbers? Something that looks off, or doesn't match between you and your squadmates.

» REPORTING A BUG
Please attach these two files, they help a lot:
  • MissionDebrief.log
  • last_mission.txt
Both are in %LOCALAPPDATA%\CowboyBingus\Helldivers2\MissionDebrief\

» COMING NEXT: OBJECTIVES PAGE
It's already built, but hidden in 0.9.0 until I've checked it properly in game.
  • Grouped by objective: rows sit under the mission's own objective names, with squad counts, e.g. ERADICATE TERMINID EGGS 85 OF 101.
  • Destroyed structures: Fabricators, Shrieker Nests, Spore Spewers, bug holes and more.
  • Who closed what: a bug hole goes to a player only when it's clear who did it (one player used an explosive or a weapon strong enough to close it right before). Otherwise it counts for the squad.
  • Holes outside objectives are shown separately.
  • Completed and failed objectives.

» AS ALWAYS
The mod only reads the game and sends nothing over the network. If it can't tell what happened, it says OTHER or Unknown Cause instead of guessing.

Thanks for playing with it, and for every report so far!
